Trying to copy and paste text onto the passage list.
Clicked on add in the passage list, then clip board but nothing happens.
I did highlight the text and copied it initially

Do you have "reference" selected when you right click (see screen shot)? Also, notice the "add to passage list" that I have on the left side.
