Highlighting/Notes on Iphone
I have an Iphone 3g with version 4.2.1. I have Logos App with 2.0.2. I don't see the ability to use highlighting or notes. Is it not possible on the 3g?
thanks

I do not have an iPhone, but I do have an iPad with g3. The highlighting works great with the latest update on the iPad. You are using the same Logos App as I am on my iPad so you should be able to highlight.I highlight on my iPad as follows: First, press on part of the text that you want to highlight. The application will then select this text. Expand the selection box to cover the text that you want to highlight. Second, select the highlight option in the pop-up menu. Third, make sure the highlight color you want is selected. Fourth, press the "done" button. Your text should be highlighted in a few seconds. The great thing about this feature is that the highlighting sinks with Logos on your personal computer.
I consider this one of the best features of the iPhone/iPad Logos application. I can now highlight and take notes on my iPad while sitting in a comfortable chair in my living room away from my computer.

Bill - The terminology can be a bit confusing… I don't think you understand the problem. You have an iPad with 3G mobile internet service. Currently ALL iPhones use "3G" mobile internet service. The OP was not making a statement about his mobile internet, but the model of his iPhone, which is a second generation iPhone. The iPhone models are as follows:
- original
- 3G
- 3GS
- 4
- 4S

I was only saying that if he is running the latest app then he ought to be able to highlight.
In my opinion, the ability to highlight and take notes makes the iPhone/iPad Logos app something worth using. Before this feature was added, I almost never used Logos on my iPad. Now I use it almost every day.

I assume it should work. On the app store it states:
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 4.0 or later. If not, they need some documentation around it.

The following is from a website which discusses iOS 4. It shows that Not all features are available on the 2 Gen iPod Touch. My guess is that this applies to the Logos app as well.
[quote] Yes, the original iPhone 2G and iPod touch G1 don’t look to be getting iOS 4 at all — Apple considers them outdated. Second generation iPhone 3G and iPod touch G2 are getting the update but no multitasking — Apple doesn’t consider them powerful enough (similar to video recording last year). And it should go without saying only iPhone 4 (and perhaps a forth generation iPod touch when it ships this fall) will be able to use hardware specific features like the Retina Display resolution or the front-facing camera.

Hi Jason,
The app store description is correct, but nevertheless Highlighting and Notes do not work on iPhone 3 or 3g devices or 2nd Generation iPods and earlier. I apologize for the confusion.

I assume the same is true for 3GS? I can't figure out how to make it work on my 3GS. The notes (or at least the titles of my notes that are on my desktop) appear in the Logos "Settings" under "Document for highlights." But there is nothing I can do with that list and I cannot make any of those notes appear either within the text or by themselves. I am running iOS 5.1

I don't know if it works for the 3GS, but I assume that it does.

As seen in the screen shot below, notes are only viewable from the text that they are attached to. If you have unattached notes, they will not appear on the mobile app. This goes for things like passage lists too.
I am not fully sure what your issue is… If I haven't explained your issue, can you show screen shots for both L4 & the mobile app?

I have iPhone 4 Wi-Fi + 3G with current 5.01 software. Used Highlighting today, but there is an arrowhead on right side of pop-up to Touch to expose the Highlighting feature. Highlight options same as on iPad(2)?
I was using Wi-Fi at the time not 3G AT&T wireless service (too slow on 3G for my use)
