Which Tablet To Purchase
Hi
Hoping to get some input here. I am in the market to purchase a Tablet.
I really like what I see in the Android versions, especially the Samsung.
But my # 1 software will be Logos.
Is there any things that are better/worse between the iPad and an Android.
Or in simpler terms: Which one should I purchase and why? I will also post this in the iPad forum.

Answered in the iPhone forum, but let me also suggest you look at the Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet too, depending on your needs those might be better options for half the price of an iPad or Samsung Galaxy Tab.

The problem with those is the customised Android OS and lack of access to Android Market which can make it tricky to install the Logos app (Logos do support the Amazon app store, though). The Nook has twice as much internal storage at 16 GB, which makes it better for downloading Logos resources as well as keeping pictures and music, etc. For more information see this comparison.
However, I would stay with a tablet having a standard Android OS (v.2.2 or 2.3), access to Android Market and 16 GB storage, as installation of Logos will be straightforward. Others will have recommendations for this.

I really like what I see in the Android versions, especially the Samsung.
I have a Samsung phone which is excellent for Logos app and have heard good things about Samsung tablets.
But you need to consider that Logos for iPad has more features. You can decide which is best for you by looking at the FAQ threads at the top of each Forum (Android and iPhone/iPad).

I would suggest the Kindle Fire. It's great for reading, watching movies and shows, listening to music, and playing games. It's light, portable, affordable, and stylish. it's a nice high quality tablet that should meet your needs.

Having used the Nook, fire, and iPad (and iPod touch) I can easily recommend the performance of the iPad and the Kindle Fire. If you are not into tinkering with the system and mostly want it to work, pick the iPad. It will get features earlier than the kindle, which also works "out of the box". When I tried to get the Nook to work, the Android app store was a disaster, i had to side-load the amazon store and download the app from there. I cannot recommend the Nook touch (the newer model) though many people have had good luck with the older nook touch, which is now known as the nook color. Regarding the other "real" Android tablets, I have never tried any of them.
I was pretty bummed out since , as others have noted, the nook has the best display and works better than the others. It mainly loses because of the environment (which the iPad wins by miles over the Fire which wins by kilometers over Android, in my humble opinion).

The best as of today is Samsung Note, followed by the Motorola Xoom for 10" tablets. The Nook and fire are good for 7" tabs, especially if you have an electric thumb, meaning you root and put ICS on them. Everything else is second class...

I have the Acer Iconia A500 (16GB version) and have had NO problems with Logos at all! Works very smoothly and I haven't lost downloaded resources when updating the app from the Android Market.
HOWEVER, if you need to reset your tablet back to factory default, you will have to re-download the offline resources again.- Hope this helps! Be Blessed!

I second Bill's coments. My tablet is 8gb version and have a couple dozen resources downloaded and still plenty of room to spare. I was somewhat concerned about readability but this has turned out to be a non-issue at all. I am very pleased with the A500 and the off-line portability it brings!
Some more Logos features for the Android would be nice. They will come. I'll be patient.
