How do I find out

Greetings All!

I am bit frustrated because I cannot figure out in the Logos software "how do I find out how many times in the Bible is the birth of Christ mentioned or how many prophecies there are of His birth? I have used google and recieved a better list of where the verses are...I am still in the learning curve of this software and want to use it to the fullest of its potential. Any tips or help would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

This also might work. When you search the entire library in the basic search you will at times get topics.

I searched this way.

"Nativity of Christ" OR "Birth of Jesus" OR Nativity

Again got a topic tab at the top of the search results. You must have dictionaries that have the topics in your library..

Wiki Getting Started with Logos has => Search with Tips and links.

Searching for the birth of Jesus, started with a Bible search of All Bible Text in my Bible Grid collection for verses that have birth and (Jesus OR Christ):

birth (Jesus,Christ)

that found 251 results. Looking in NA27 Int, discovered All Bible Text includes English Gloss so copied the search to a new panel, then clicked "All Bible Text" so could select "Surface Text" and ran search. Looking at results, noticed Luke 2:11 was not included so clicked on Luke 2:11 in ESV column of original search to open ESV where noticed the verse has "born" and "Christ" so modified search to look for verses with (birth OR born) AND (Jesus OR Christ):

(birth,born) (Jesus,Christ)

After finding verses, wanted to find more references to the birth of Christ in my library so copied search to a new tab, then changed to Basic along with adding a proximity clause WITHIN 12 WORDS because the distance between words using AND in a Basic search can be lots of words:

(birth,born) WITHIN 12 WORDS (Jesus,Christ)

that found 71,723 results in 2,723 resources. To find many topical articles within those search results, again copied search panel to a new tab, then clicked "All Text" so could select Heading Text, Large Text, and Title, which reduced result set to 912 results. With results sorted By Count, have some resources with lots of topical articles about the birth of Christ. By the way, Title found 6 images, whose Title matches search criteria.

To find articles about prophecies about the birth of Christ, could add WITHIN 12 WORDS prophecy

(birth,born) WITHIN 12 WORDS (Jesus,Christ) WITHIN 12 WORDS prophecy
