Can you copy and paste from the andriod app to other programmes?
I have been looking at the functionality of the andriod app, as the ipad is too costly. I find that I take a lot of quotes/readings/comments from Logos, and use it in other documents. I downloaded the basic andriod app onto a Galaxy Note (a demo model in the shop) but I couldnt see how to copy a section to take to another. Is it possible to do? Or is it only for reading? Can I not highlight? I did not transfer the information over to the SD card, so I do not know if that had anything to do with it... would love some insight. The answer will dertermine which route I go regarding the tablet. The Galaxy Note runs on Android™ 2.3(Gingerbread), and I believe there are two different formats, one for the phone, and one for the tablet. Does that make a difference? Would appreciate any insight! Thanks!

Copy/paste? Yes---at least on the current market beta.... a really long press in a resource brings up a pair of "jaws", of which each can be positioned at one end of the text to be copied. Discovered it quite by accident, yesterday.
Highlighting? Haven't found it yet (wasn't looking, but...)

Bill, how long did you press (after BWS and Search appeared)? What resource?

Hi Bill:
What is the beta number you're running? I am running 0.9.3 (not a beta, I don't think) and long-pressing brings up Bible Word Study and Search, as Dave is indicating.
I thought Copy Text is still a planned feature.

Same beta... Wow.... I had a different post written, then I went back to verify I was telling you accurately... So today BWS / Search is all it'll do for me, too!
But I'm not imagining things. I thought it was so cool to be able to copy / paste, yesterday, that I called my wife over & showed her. She remembers it, too, so I'm not a victim of imagination.
Now, I have no idea what I did or how to invoke it again!
And this kind of behavior is what's almost convinced me now that it'll be an iOS system, next time....
Grace & Peace,
Bill

Dave, when (quite by accident) it started behaving this way, the appearance of the "jaws" (each looked like one side of a vise) startled me into releasing... it was in my preferred bible, NIV84, and was a single long finger press. Totally weird... it won't do it for me today, either...

Bills, I've pressed forever and no "jaws" appear.

It would be important to have copy text option.

It is planned - see FAQ http://community.logos.com/forums/t/34373.aspx

It has a little difference but its not a problem. The apps are user friendly.

Hi Bill:
I was in the Passage Guide just now and long-pressed a word and the "jaws" appeared. I pressed one of the jaws (or the highlight itself) and got a note "Text copied to clipboard" and I was able to paste it elsewhere. So, copy text does work, if only in the Passage Guide.
I thought about this old post and am letting you (and others) know, in case you might still think you're in an episode of Twilight Zone two months later. My theory is that in December, you thought you were in NIV, but were in a Passage Guide instead.

Thank you for clarifying that and preserving Bill's sanity!

In the meantime, I've found a workaround. Click on the "Comparison" then enter the range of verses that include the portion you want to copy. You can then use long press to bring up the jaws and copy from any of the versions on the screen.

G'day Bill,
I think the functionality you found was according to your tablet, not the appliation. I am using Asus Transformer, and if you long press on a particular word, the "jaws" appear, then you can slide them to extend the highlighted section then copy and paste elsewhere.
I don't know what you are using?
It can be difficult to get the jaws to appear...what I found is whilst doing the long press, you need to keep on exactly the same spot.
Blessings brother!

Sorry to be bothersome, but it does seem that there are certain times when the functionality of the tablet is superseded by the particular application. The logos app for Android seems to utilise the long press to bring up search capabilities, so from those screens (like just reading a book) the jaws don't seem to appear. I, too, am anxiously anticipating the highlighting function...because to be perfectly honest, at the moment, the kindle app for Android has more useful funtionality for my allbeit, limited purposes.
