Empty Trash...confirm....NO NO NO WAIT NO CANCEL!!!!1!

I went to empty my trash bin today and was alarmed to find that a Logos Application file was in it. The process stopped because Logos was in use, so I didn't lose anything, but I'm still puzzled as to how the file got there (and where it is SUPPOSED to be). The file name is: "Logos Bible Software 4 (61450.7.101)"

Anyone have any idea what this is, how it got in the trash, and where it's supposed to go?

Not familiar with that version number. Did you recently upgrade? When you upgrade, the old version is placed into the trash. Sometimes, OS X thinks it is still in use and will not allow you to empty.

I think it was a previous format. I had went ahead and deleted it and everything seems to be still working fine.

Here's the problem:

Even with Logos closed it will not remove the file. I get a warning that the operation will not continue because the file XXXXX.ttf is in use (where XXXXX is a font name).

Any ideas?

Never had an update try to move the app file to the trash bin. But at any rate, I wouldn't completely freak out, since if worst came to worst you can still download everything again from the Logos server. Not fun or ideal, but it's not the sky falling down either.

Everytime I have an update a Logos file get put into the trash. It's a prior version number file. I wouldn't sweat it, I delete mine all the time.

Wonder about opening Apple's FontBook, then click on Font, right click on Font type face has option to reveal in Finder. Font Book right click also has option to remove font.

You may try the tried and true Windows fixit—Restart your Mac. L4 seems to have introduced us to this necessity.

if after re-starting the Mac the file still will not delete then use a small utility called TrashIt - http://download.cnet.com/Trash-It/3000-2094_4-25829.html

Since the items I am deleting are not sensitive, etc. and TrashIt is faster than the normal secure trash delete on my Mac ....

I restarted the Macbook and it allowed me to delete the file. I've had no adverse affects since then, though Logos did want to download 90MB of something (which happens almost everytime I connect this laptop to the internet).

Problem solved, I guess.

KSFJ - Logos does not store its Logos extra specific fonts in any of the standard Mac folders, they are stored inside the app bundle. I found this out previously when someone was wanting to use one of the fonts in another app outside Logos.

Yes I agree that that is not proper application behaviour.
