Mission: To serve God as He desires.

Welcome to the Faithlife forum. Please let us know your thoughts, suggestions, questions and feedback. Thanks!

    Hello Di,

I am all for it – but the big question is can we run it? If not then from where would we get our thoughts, needless to say our questions and or feedback.

Without some form of interaction with what it is that we are not supposed to use until it is released seems superfluous to ask things from us - would not you agree?

    -or-

Do we take from your posting as such that we now have the go on and run it pink slip?

I didn't realize we weren't supposed to download and start using the FSP app.  Oops.  Well, I hope it's okay that I did.

As for thoughts about it, I posted some initial thoughts yesterday on the forums, but I would revise one of those.  I had mentioned that it was going really slow for me.  That got resolved once I downloaded some of the resources to my iPad.  However, I do have one additional thought:

This app seems like it has a lot of promise for getting visitors connected into the life of the church through an online Bible study discussion.  However, I'm not sure very many visitors would be willing to pay $20 for such a feature.  I can see our regular members doing that, as they have no problem paying $10-20 for a good book study.  But if there was a way to offer a trial period (say, 2-3 months?) to entice first-time visitors, it would be helpful.  (of course, this doesn't take effect until 2014 when the free period via coupon expires, so we'll have time to see how well it actually connects with visitors)

I went with the netbook. I did not have to many problems except with some text in an unrelated issue.

But, as much as I would like to voice some things, I feel somewhat obligated to refrain due to Bob's postings in regards to the matter.

No offence Di, but until I can get confirmation from Bob, I think I will pass.....

I am looking forward to using this.  On the IOS app it crashes when trying to download books. Then when i restart the app it says the books have been downloaded, but cannot be found on the device.

I have a question - I downloaded the Faithlife Study Bible app for my iPhone, but was unable to install it as the app requires iOS5 and my iPhone uses iOS4. Is there going to be a version of the app that will run on iOS4?

It's time to start checking it out!

    http://faithlife.com

We're opening up Faithlife -- you can check it out now. Log in with your existing Logos.com account.

    - This is a beta. It works, it's up, and the data is live. It is is connected to your existing Logos.com account. (It is your Logos.com account.) But you may encounter bugs. If so, please report them here.

    - This is a "soft launch." We'll be rolling out improvements every few days. If you have a friend you really want to invite to try it out so you can join a group together, go ahead. But please hold off blogging and "public promotion" just a little longer. Consider yourself invited to a limited beta program! :-)

    - The Faithlife Study Bible is a new product that complements Faithlife.com. It will enter beta in the next few days.

    - Tech support is not available by phone or email yet. Post questions here.

    What should you do first?

Visit. Watch the intro video, read the privacy policy, visit the help pages. Then log in with your Logos.com account and edit your profile.

Your church may already have a group; if not it's probably being added in the next day or so. You can go ahead and create groups, but keep in mind one will probably already exist for your church. You might want to make one for your small group or some other group.

Note: There is not yet a group deletion mechanism. (There will be later.) And we're still finalizing group identifiers, etc. so the URL of your new group might change in the next few days.

You can Join, Follow, or Observe the "Faithlife Beta" group if you want to hang out and talk with other beta users.

(For now, I'll see if our help and videos are enough to help you understand the difference between those different ways of connecting!)

Thanks for helping us test things out!

    -- Bob

Tip: Proclaim Groups are also Faithlife groups. So you can talk with your presentation team. (More functionality coming soon, too!)

Proclaim groups all have "Presentation Team" at the end, to distinguish them from a general group for the church.

Thanks Bob, thats what I needed.

So theres a 'Faithlife beta' group already established and it is in 'open' setting. okay I see it. So i will post there some of my thoughts concerning the 'trial run' that was done. We already had a few thoughts.

Are we, you and I, free to discuss somethings openly here? Now....

    Thanks.

[[[edit: I joined the beta group but i already get a posting error..?]]

[[[second edit: I click the post button and get the error - i can click 'about or members' then return and my post is visible as it should be.....why the error and then having to leave the discussion area just to return?]]

    Bob,

That link has somehow been truncated and won't work as a link. Pasting the URL into a web browser does.

    Room4more,

You should read a bit more before your start replying.

I did say: Pasting the URL into a web browser does.

Pasting works, clicking on the link doesn't. Obviously typing it in will work, too. I said this so Bob could update his link for those who aren't as smart as you.

So yes I can see it.
