Foreign Field Needs
On my iPhone, both Logos and Vyrso load unbearably slow, or not at all in some conditions. Usually when I need them most. When I have just a moment to show someone a Bible truth in their own language, people just won't wait around for Bible software to....not open.
When working in foreign areas with unstable internet/mobile access, or where access is monitored or censored, it can be nearly impossible to get Logos to load. The issue may have to do with the way authorities in restrictive countries constantly switch communication access modes as a control mechanism. Logos just can't handle it and will not start..
Please, please develop a way to reliably and quickly open Logos even without internet, and the ability to do at least rudimentary searches.
I can and do resort to other software, but I want my Logos!
Thanks for hearing me.

Thank you for your quick reply. Yes I have downloaded many resources. They are readable, even if not searchable...IF I can get the program to load.
Normally, this is not a serious problem even if there is no 3G or Edge available. It may be slow on old-fashioned cell phone service, but opens. However in the places we go, service is "different" and apparently prevents or slows Logos so much that it will not load.
If I have recently opened Logos successfully, it will open again, if not too much time has gone by--I'm not sure how much, perhaps and hour or two?

It looks like the Logos app always try to open resources from the internet at first in spite of the downloaded resources. I have my preferred bible downloaded but I always get a spinning wheel when I open it.
I just run a test on my iPhone 4S: The app is opening to the reading view. I have the white screen with spinning wheel in 18 secs and then the downloaded resource is opened. I think it should be possible to open up a downloaded resources much faster.

Concur.
Workaround idea: wonder about changing iPhone to airplane mode, then open Logos mobile app ?
Using a first generation iPad in airplane mode, can open and switch Bible versions in a few seconds using offline resources.

Wish I had thought of using airplane mode. That is why forums are so valuable. It should be a big improvement. I'll test it [:)]
Thanks to each of you.

Maybe, but I don't want a workaround. I want a working solution. (18 secs is when I have a very pour internet connection. Most of the time resource is opened in 6-8 secs. But a competitor load app and open bible in 1-1.5 secs.)
Maybe the frequent app crashes affect the startup and the time to load resource at startup. Longing for 2.1.

Wonder if the "beta" Faithlife Study Bible app (1.0.1) opens faster with network connection active ?
