Large Highlight File Fixed!
Early this week when the temporary move to a nonSync2 solution for syncing was implemented for Logos app 2.0.2 not only did the Reading Plans start to work, but I have just discovered that the previous problem with syncing large note/highlight files was fixed as well. My 2.0.2 app has fully synced all my highlights including the ones from my large note/highlight file. The syncing wheel has stopped, and all is well. Thanks Logos.Let's make the temporary fix permanent.
Now if only Vyrso 2.1.0 was fixed. It still does not show any highlights including the ones from small files, and closes shortly after opening.

Bummer. Sorry it did not work for you. Recently, I had carved the file back from 700 to 400 pages, but it had still failed until sometime this week. I am not sure when it actually worked. I did not notice it until this morning (prior to the Ipad arriving - sorry).
The 2.1.0 Vyrso (is it the same as the coming 2.1.0 Logos app? - probably) is failing worse for me than before - takes only a few minutes to fail. I don't know if it is the same problem - assume it is since others are not having a problem with it.
Still spinning
One thing you can check is to go into iOS settings: general: usage & figure out how much the app is taking up. Open up the app… let it continue the spinning thing for a while… let it crash several times if need be… check the file size again. As long as it is still downloading, keep it going. Once it levels off it may work for you. This has sometimes worked for me in the past. [:S]
If it doesn't work out, let us know. The dev's are very busy with several projects right now, but I did communicate with someone today. I was hoping danny's success would be duplicated to others.
OH, are you on Logos or Vyrso? Have you tried the other?

I had the same problem with another app… the secret one everyones been talking about. Try my advice in my previous post.

it looks like it's leveled out without getting all the data.
Does the app still crash?
is 2.1 supposed to fix this or will I be waiting for something else?
I honestly don't know. I have been in contact with Logos about another issue and also asked about this one. I was told to gather some more info:

Vyrso is already at 2.1.0. It does not seem to address this problem.
