HELP!
L4 B5 failed to install... won't install... & won't let me open the old beta. It now crashes every time. http://community.logos.com/forums/p/47300/351545.aspx#351545 HELP!
I used Restore Point to restore the last version of the file. L4 started & is indexing. Guess I'll just have to say "NO" each time for awhile on Installing a New Update. Anyone remember how to stop it from asking?
indexing
The only reason I installed the update was to get a new resource that it came bundled with... I thought 60Mb (approx) was a little big for that resource...
<sigh>Logos - how do I get to where the proposed beta won't hurt my installation?

Anyone remember how to turn off an update? I'd like to delay this one until a fix is in place....
Anyone remember how to turn off an update?
In Program Settings, make Automatically Download Updates = NO

Thanks, Dave - it's already set that way (I forgot to change it back after testing to see if setting it "no" improved my startup time), & the update is already downloaded... at this point, each time I start Logos it says, "An Update is ready to be installed. Do you want to install it?"Any thoughts?

Just keep saying "No" (or clicking the X) each time you get that message, until you're sure it's safe to take the update. I don't know of a way to stop it from coming back.

I am getting the same behaviour on a "stable" 4.5a version. I have to say "no" in order for it to run.
If/when I say yes it says that it cannot download a needed file and closes/crashes etc.

Hi Steve, to fix it, I ended up having to reinstall... if you do, I highly recommend using Dave H's procedure in the wiki that lets you avoid downloading all your resources. I forgot about it, had to, & lost 36hr on Logos while it was downloading, indexing...
Thanks for the advice/warning.
I had moved back to "stable" to avoid the re-installs. [:(]
Oh well.
If I can keep going by saying "no" to the offered "update" perhaps when the next truly "stable" version is released things might improve?
Thanks
SteveF
Bill I 'm not sure what I did differently, but after "fiddling" with it some more I was able to get a "sign-in" spash and it correctly applied the 4.5a SR-1 stable update.
Thanks for your note.
