Bug? Highlight Sync Problem
I highlighted parts of an article in Grace Theological Journal (vol. 12) while reading on my iPad. The highlights show up on my Mac in the note file, but instead of showing the resource it says "unavailable resource." The resource itself on the Mac does not show the colored highlight when I'm reading the resource on my Mac. The other highlights from other resources in this note all have a specific resource listed and display appropriately when I am reading the resources on my Mac. I am using 4.5b Beta 5 (4.52.0.1957).

Brian - I am a bit confused, so let me rephrase your problem to see if I understand correctly.
- You highlighted a resource on your iPad
- When you open L4 on your Mac, the note file appears reflecting the highlights -BUT-
- You can't actually read the resource on your Mac, but instead get a message "unavailable resource"
Does this mean that the entire resource (Grace Theological Journal, Vol. 12) is unreadable on your Mac? Have you ever been able to read this resource on your Mac? Do you have another computer with Logos installed? If so, is the resource available there?
I have had resource licenses stop working for me before… but I would think they would stop working on both your iPad & Mac. If my understanding is correct, you will need to contact Logos to reinstate your license.

I get confused too when highlights are put in note files. Trying to explain what is going on becomes more complex [:)]
I can read the resource on my Mac, but the highlights do not show in the resource.
Here is a screen print from the note on the Mac showing the "unavailable resource" message....even though the resource is on the Mac and I can read it on the Mac.

To answer one of your other questions, it shows up the same on my Windows machine.

This is a new feature since 4.3. There are some great benefits of it, but it does add complexity.
I can read the resource on my Mac, but the highlights do not show in the resource.
At this point, with a better understanding of your situation, I concur that this seems like a bug. Let me rephrase it for the developers. Tell me if I have it right. [:)]
Brian is having difficulties with highlighting with a resource (Grace Theological Journal, Vol. 12). When he highlights the resource on his iPad, highlights seem to work properly on the mobile app, but the highlighting does not appear in the resource on either his Mac or PC. At first glance it might appear that syncing is not functioning properly, however, the note file DOES reflect the highlights made in the resource. Another strange feature of this bug is that the resource isn't listed in the note file by its name, but is rather identified by "unavailable resource." Despite this label, the resource is indeed available in his Logos installations as well as his mobile app.
Does that sum it up well?
FYI - If you want to insert a photo into the forums, please save it as a .png or .jpg - .tiff won't work. Here is your image for others to see:

Hello Brian,
Thanks for reporting this issue - it appears to be a problem with the Grace Theological Journals. I've written up a case and sent it to Development.

Hi Brian,
This has not yet been fixed and unfortunately I can't give you a time frame since I don't know. However, it has been reported.
