When I click the link to my reading plan it opens the guide which is slow. Where do I change this setting?

Jason, I am unsure what you mean. When you click on your reading plan in the file menu, it should open in a floating window. When you click on the day's reading link, the resource should open in whichever layout is currently open. Is this not what you are seeing?
I mean my bible reading plan which appears in the top banner of the Home. I click the link for the bible text and it opens my Passage Guide.
Yep - this is a problem!
I overcome it by not doing what you are doing.
I have a layout for my reading plan (BibleVersion and Commentary in the Logos Box and floating windows on the second screen for Bible People and Bible Places). You can, of course make a custom layout to suit yourself.
You then open your 'Reading Plan' from the layout tab and need to remember to 'Update to current Snapshot' each time you finish reading.
Not exactly Mac like but then it is Logos way...
I have done what Mike does as well…
For clarification purposes though, when I clicked on the reading plan on my home page, it opened up the resource in my current layout, which was not a passage guide. Can you create a simple layout, go back to the homepage & click on the reading and see what happens?

My workaround is a bit different so have created a shortcut for reading plan so can click reading plan to open, then click reading.
If want to click reading plan from Home Page, the other performance trick is collapsing Passage Guide (PG) sections, which allows PG to quickly display, then can expand desired section(s). Caveat: when done using PG, remember to close section(s) for next time.

It seems that this only happens when the layout behind the Home Page is an empty window. If you have any resource open, clicking on the day's reading will open your designate Bible to the day's reading that you click.
HI KS4J
My problem with trying your solution is the problem that I have found with the devotional I use alongside the daily readings.
This year I am using the two 'For the Love of God' devotionals alongside the NIV on the M'Chaye reading plan. Unless I 'Update to Current Snapshot' at the end of each day's reading then the devotionals get out of sync.
I know that this is a minor niggle but minor niggles niggle.
Mike - Are you using them as calendar devotionals (i.e. do you read "March 3" reading on "March 3")? I started my M'Chanye reading plan in March of last year (not on Jan 1st). I was going to do the same as you "this year," but it seems that the Carson resources are going to be a pain if I don't stick to the calendar day. Is that what you have found?

Thanks [8-|] personally learned a bit more.
Option: prioritize devotional in your Logos Library so Home Page displays devotional, then can click "More" beside "Daily Devotional" to open devotional to today's reading, then click Home button, followed by clicking Reading Plan in Home Page ribbon to open Bible to today's reading.
Personally reading "Amazing Grace - 366 Inspiring Hymn Stories" devotional, which provided a reason to search a bit:
The method I use is not exactly what you want, but it might help to know. I saved "My Passage Guide" template (which is the one that opens when you enter a Bible Reading Plan etc. from the Home Page) with no Commentary section, just Cross References and Parallel Passages sections. It opens very fast.
