How Can I Hide (or Remove) Unwanted Books in The Library?

I downloaded the Perseus Digital Collections and the books have sort of taken over my Logos to the point where I can't get at the info I want most of the time, especially on my Android device.

Question #1: Is it possible to remove (delete) individual books from a collection?

Question #2: Is it possible to hide a list of books I don't want to see? I would like to come back to them and "un-hide" them when I want to look at them or search them. But I would like to completely ignore them most of the time.

I went through the laborious process of trying to hide almost everything in the Perseus Collection. I finally decided to call Logos and I had them removed from my library. In reality, I barely have enough time to read all the great material I have, so Perseus wasn't really a benefit for me. I guess if I had lots of extra time, they might prove interesting...???

The hiding process actually deletes them, as I understand it.

This is true. It does delete them from your hard disk, but you retain your license to them. This means that if you ever unhide them, they will come back again (and be redownloaded to your hard disk) the next time you restart Logos.

I just spent 30-40 minutes trying to navigate the panels/tabs and the frustrating exercise of manipulating the Library and Program Settings and having them switch and close. I can't even scroll using my touchpad (works in every single other app!). Deciding what to use or not use in a program should be as simple as (de)selecting a list.

I even tried to use the Favourites or Collections or whatever it is to organise the Bibles and Study Tools into one place and I still can't eleminate the Perseus Collecitons (which I regret ever gettting).

I'm sure Logos is phenomenal at displaying 2000 citations instantly, but that's not what I want it to do so I really don't care.

I can't get Logos to do the simplest of things like display 2-4 translations and link the passages to Strong's, let me make notes and get some decent maps,. I can't even use the "Biblical Place" maps that are supposed to replace the rather useless "Logos Deluxe Maps". Every time I try to get help I get the sales pitch on buying the 'sepcial disocunt' $350 package.

Life's too short. I'm too tired. And I can do way better using a free package so I'll call the money and time a loss and walk away.

I think from your other posts you don't have a Logos 4 base-package. A lot of the functionality of Logos comes with base packages, so without that, I can understand your frustration. If you can't afford to buy a base-package, you should try asking Logos for a refund for the add-ons you have purchased.

I began with the Logos 4 Windows 'engine' which I installed because I wanted to access the Perseus Collection. They also had the SBL Greek NT and LEB bible for free so I added them. Since then I've added a few books (free and purchased). My latest 'big' purchase was the NASB collection (KJV/AV, ASV, NASB95, Amplified, La Bibla de las Americas, Naves, and other material). But I still can't get it to work together. All digital versions of the NASB include keying to Strong's Numbers and using same to link to their Concordance and Dictionaries, but not in Logos.

I find a lot of GUI interactions (which I rely on) with Logos are counter-intuitive.Here's a few of the top of my head:

Selecting multiple objects such as files is done by select first, hold shift, select last or select, hold Ctrl ,select next, and so on. I tried this again trying to follow the instructions for hiding, but it doesn't work. Every timeI select a book Logos opens it. Shift and Ctrl make no difference.

Double-clicking on a Windows "Title Bar" maximizes it. Doing the same in Logos adds a Tab.

In Windows, right-clicking is the easiest and most intuitive way of selecting choices and manipulating objects (including text) on screen.Not so in Logos. Single or Double-clicking a word or phrase is an intuitive way to select it prior to some action. In Logos moving to select the 'action' removes the selection (defeating the purpose).

You need to click on a different column than the name of the book or its icon. Click on Type or Author for example, then Shift and Ctrl click work fine. Sorry this wasn't explained to you before you got frustrated with the software.

Logos doesn't use the standard windowing model that other Windows apps use. There are various ways to maximize a resource that is currently open in a tab. The easiest three are: 1) Make sure that is the active resource by clicking on it somewhere, then press F11 to enter Reading Mode; 2) Right click on the tab and choose "open in a floating window" then maximize the floating window (the normal Windows way: click on the maximize icon in the upper right); 3) Click on the resource (to make sure that's the active one), then choose the 1-tile layout from the Layout menu:

Not sure I'm following you here. Yes, double-clicking in Logos has special meaning (doesn't select the word but rather is a shortcut for running a lookup on it, very useful for if you're studying the Greek NT for example). However if you right click on a word it selects the word, then pops up the context menu, and you can choose an action from that. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that selecting the action removes the selection. When I right click on a word then choose something, say, "Lookup", from the menu that pops up, the word remains selected. Please explain better what you're seeing. I might be misunderstanding you.

The mobile app doesn't have a way to remove (or hide) resources, unless the license is removed from the account (which would remove them from your computer as well). The iOS version has the ability to sort using syntax such as edition:e, which shows only your Vyrso books. I have been told that this doesn't (or didn't) work on Andriod (yet).
