Too exotic? Let me explain: I used the new Sharing feature (right click menu - works only in a bible-indexed part of a resource)
I shared Phil 4:4 from NT-Wrights own translation in "Paul for everyone: The Prison Letters" and a portion of his commentary - I learned that this creates a bit.ly short-link to biblia, but opens only a bible (ESV in this case). If one shares the same from biblia, it includes a resource link to Wright (IMHO a bug in L4). In all these cases, the resource is not opened at the right position, but at the beginning of the passage.
Then I used the Community Notes feature to annotate Phil 4:1 as well as Phil 4:13 (playing with L4 and biblia) and a selected Text from Metaxa's Bonhoeffer you'll find around here: logosres:b97d15949d0bb3aaaf32e69c2c9d49cb;art=r40;off=25144 (you need to select text in the relevant paragraph, here Best's record of DB's last words, to see a Cnote)

Ah... found it, & THANKS! Now I get it...
Didn't have NT Wright's translation, so I couldn't see what you'd posted & had no idea how it got there. Thanks for amplifying...

I see your note after joining the group. I don't have to select text to see the note--I can just click on the note indicator.

Sharing doesn't work from any resource that doesn't have a Bible index. That makes it pretty limited in my opinion. I hope that changes.
EDIT: nevermind, I just read the release notes again....having to go to the resource info pane to share is counter-intuitive. I hope THAT changes.

Question, for you Todd.
It appears that this beta has down-loaded fine and is operating as planned?
I only asked as I have gotten "burned" on one a while back and re-loaded "regular" (stable) for a while.

Yes, I haven't had any problems myself.

Interesting. No note indicator for me:
But the note is there when I select text:
Could you please a) reply to my note and b) note something different for me, to see if I get the indicator on notes I didn't create myself?
Looks like a bug to me. (I'm on Win 7 Home, 32 bit, btw.)

I posted community notes in the Faithlife Beta group on the ESV text of 1 Corinthians 15:14 and on the New Bible Dictionary article on 'Spirit, Holy Spirit.' Be interested to know if you have the green Community Note indicator either or both places.

Interesting. No note indicator for me:
First, check your annotations menu to make sure the group name under "Community Notes" is checked (see below). Mine acts like you describe when I uncheck it.
I added a note of my own and also a response to yours. My own note has solid icon and your note has an outline icon:

even more mysterious:
Same with Bonhoeffer: no way to check the CNote display, but I can see your notes.

I can see the note indicator in ESV on biblia, but not in L4. Can't see a note indicator in NBD as well - where in that article is your note?

Using the ESV, posted on John 14:16. Can anyone see it in faithlife community notes?

Used the software to post on Luke 22:29 using NKJV, and the note also showed up on the ESV.

How do we find & OPEN a community note? Haven't found that functionality in the s/w, as yet.....

I do not see it nor does anything come up when I open Community Notes and scroll to the reference. Similarly I do not see anything associated with your second not references in the second post (either in NKJV or ESV).
Are you posting to the Faithlife Beta group?

Well I am not seeing either of Lynden's notes. You can open Community Notes from the Tools Menu and you should see a community note when you scroll or advance to a place where a note has been posted. By default the Visual Filters has a Community Notes section that has Faithlife Beta checked (at least mine was after I installed the new Beta). Seems we have more to learn or the fact this is in beta is showing up.

Lynden, we can only see postings from groups we have a membership in. Not sure what you mean by posting to Faithlife, though. I used Logos 4 and used the right click menu to create a posting from within a resource. I chose the Faithlife Beta group to post it to. You might try that (assuming you are a member there, if not join).

Now I see that one and your earlier one at John 14:23 using the ESV.
Maybe synching hadn't occurred when I looked the first time???
Solid color notes appear to be those we create and outlined note icons ones others have created.

Beta 6 required. You either go through Tools/Community Notes (under the Lookup things between Cited By and Information) or you just right click in a resource and you'll find Add Community Note at the righthand side in the (default anyway) Selection tab. This opens the Community Note tab righthandside where Information or Power lookup would be placed. If you're in a bible-indexed place, you may also share the bible verse.
If you belong to the chosen few, you'll see Cnotes indicated just as in biblia.com. Otherwise you need to decide where to look for one and select a bit of text in a paragrapoh where the note should be and it will open in the tab (see my other screenshot above) Otherwise the tab will say "no notes" and you can add some yourself.

Those in bibles do. They will have these markers (filled / boundary shape only) some can see in L4. Maybe you need to wait some seconds for synchro and then do F 5 in biblia.

Really excited about the group feature and its linking to L4. As soon as the beta goes gold, I will be sharing the concept with our Ministerial Fraternity.
The long discussed and request for a forum to discuss theological matters is here. Cant wait to see the finished product.

Yep, for all that's bible indexed. But there are some known issues with it (not giving the correct position in the resource) and a bug that is gives only a link to the ESV instead of the rersource you wanted to share.

Welp, this was interesting reading, BBUUTT, we denominationally, already have a dedicated forum for our needs and purposes.
......so I do not think that I would like this feature to go gold. I really do not wish to have our notes intermingled......which no one has verified yet......since you all are running beta6. I gave up beta testing years back, and just run the stables now.....but I know that if it does go gold I probably won't have much choice other than to not use it.....I would not care too much to have to sort through my notes and yours decifering which to ""turn off"" and which to leave on....

R4R, you have no worries. This feature will work only if you are a member of a Faithlife group, and only then if someone in the group has posted a Community note, and only then if you choose to display it using the Visual Filters menu on your Logos resource. Nothing will be placed on your computer or synched with your notes.
Logos is using a new feature to do this which may later let us share our notes with each other as logos has long promised. Again, you won't have your notes messed up when this feature rolls out, they will be kept separate. Nobody would want their notes messed up.

Mark,
Agree'd.
Basically, we share a different systemic theology, and that would kinda frenzy-ic reading your notes and you reading mine......'nough said.
Thanks again.
