I have listened in on these party lines every now and then, but this is my first post. I gave up and got a ipad monday, not knowing al the problems that I would have. Got it loaded up tuesday and could not get on line. I spent the day today with support from the cable co., apple, and the router co. got it going late today and downloaded some Bibles, and commentaries. After this sad story my question is where will I find the books, and how can I line them up with Bibles on one side and commentaries next to them. Is this wishful thinking? I would appreciate any help.

Your books should be in your library. If you are not seeing your books, make sure that you signed in with the right username & password. You can find that information under the following path: "more" (button on the lower right corner); "settings"; your account email address should be listed under "accounts" and should say "signed in" (you can't sign out without deleting the app).

What you want is "split screen." My screen shots are on another computer, so I will have to describe it. If you need me to, I can get pics later.
From the reading view, with the menu down (gently touch the screen to make the menu come and go), notice a "semi circle" icon in the bottom right corner. In Portrait mode, push it up; in landscape mode, push it left. When you get the screen split the way you want, press the semi circle and hold it for a second. Switch to "link" and your Bible & commentary will scroll together.

Just to illustrate Alabama's helpful explanation.
The screenshot below illustrates the split panel reading view available on iOS. The 'bubble' at the bottom of the screen divide can be dragged to resize/remove a panel.
Holding the 'bubble' for a couple of seconds brings up the submenu below which enables the panels to be linked,
