Slow moving from one page to another on iPad
When reading my perferred Bible on my iPad I have to wait as much as 10 seconds for the page to turn after I swipe it. Is this normal?

Some users have mentioned that problem. Mine generally does not. Out of curiosity:
- Is your resource downloaded or online?
- Have you tried the resource the other way (i.e. downloaded or online)?
- If it is downloaded, what happens when you put the device in Airplane mode?
- Does this happen with other resources?
- Are there many notes/highlights attached to this resource?

- Is your resource downloaded or online? It is downloaded
- Have you tried the resource the other way (i.e. downloaded or online)? Other resources turn much more quickly
- If it is downloaded, what happens when you put the device in Airplane mode? I put my iPad in airplane mode and the notes and highlights disappear and the Bible moves from one page to the next more quickly. But when the 3G catches up it slows down again.
- Does this happen with other resources? Only resources that have highlights or notes
- Are there many notes/highlights attached to this resource? yes

Not at this time.

Can you tell me about your note & highlight files in L4? Are you organizing them in any way (i.e. creating a new file for each resource or topic), or are you using default settings (pallet note files)? If you were to use print/export, how many pages of notes do you have for your main files?

You can turn off Notes and Highlights. Whilst in a book tap the screen, then tap the Aa button. Then turn off Notes and Highlights. Your Notes and Highlights everywhere should be turned off.

Notes and highlights - I have attempted to find out what is the best strategy for notes and highlights since they have made the new changes. Many of my notes are from 1993 -1999 when I was in seminary and obviously back then a note was a note was a note. Now with all the power in notes there should be a system. I wonder what discussions took place with the developers. How did they invision notes and highlights working?
I probable have over 500 individual notes, many related to a verse where i parsed the verbs and signficant words. Like I said I go back a ways.

I turned notes and highlights off and the pages move as normal.
Thanks for the help.
I would still like to hear some thoughts about to best use notes and highlights efficiently!

Thanks for the assist. [:$]
I guess I forgot that. What you can't do is turn off notes & highlights for one resource, or turn off one note file but keep others open.

Joe - My guess is that your problem is related to large note files, but I am not a developer (nor do I play one on TV).

500 individual notes - the old school kind - in one note file?
What about highlights?

When I was beta testing the 2.0 mobile app early on, I was having problems because of my large amounts of highlights. Since I have more time on my hands than I want ([:S]), I spent about 5 hours breaking down the default (pallet based) highlight file into resource specific note files. This fixed my problem immediately. My notes, however, are not like yours. Most of mine are just highlights.
I wish Logos would create a system where highlights automatically went into a resource specific note file (i.e. one for each book). This would require a major overhaul to file management within L4 (& the mobile app). I should also add that I envision these note files to be behind the scenes. Most people would never need to get to them, so store them away. Additionally, I like many things about the new system, and would not want it eliminated. I would like to be able to continue creating note files based on theme.
