Are community notes creates in L4 supposed to be available on Faithlife?  I have created a group there and designated that group for the community note in L4, but do not see anything on the website.  The group is type Church and is open.

Thanks for any help.

No, they are not. They stay persistent in the resource and are available to group members there from L4 (Beta 6 onwards) and Biblia.com (currently only in bibles). According to Bob, one of the features in development is a notifier feature which tells the group on Faithlife that a member has created a note, but this is not there yet.

It helps to think of Faithlife as a very transient, day-to-day communication feature (like twitter).

So it seems that there is no way to make a community note that is private to a particular community? All community notes are public?

Yes you can make it for a specific group (just not on the Mac, it's a known issue). On Windows, www.biblia.com, or if you have the Faithlife Study Bible app groups are available as a drop down. The exception seems to be for groups that are described as "discussion groups" this seems to be a bug that needs to be fixed.

A note is public only if you post it to My Faithlife rather than a specific groups.

    Hi Jacob

No - I don't think this is the case.

Notes are viewable depending on which community(s) you select in the visual filter so if you don't have access to a group you can't see the notes.

Am I missing what you are saying?

As towards the ebb and flow of using and instructions on how to use ‘Logos Bible Software’ see:

    http://community.logos.com/forums/t/48340.aspx

They give an idea on how this will work, yet still in beta....

    Hope this helps.

Community Notes are shared with the community you share them with. "My Faithlife" shares with everyone who is a co-member with you of a Faithlife group, and with anyone you allow to see your posts. (I have My Faithlife post privacy set to "Everyone", for example. But you can choose your own setting.)

If you share a community note with a named group -- "Wednesday Small Group" for example -- only members of that group will be able to see it. (And  followers and observers of that group, if the group allows them. Typically a large church might support followers and observers, but a secret or closed group -- like a small group -- would not.)
