copy and paste Bible verses into Office Word 2007

When I use the copy and paste Bible verses command using my Logos 4 with Windows 7, It opens a NEW document, rather than pasting to the document I'm currently working on.

this problem does not occur on my computer with Windows XP (same programs, office and Logos). Any help out there?

‘Tool’ – ‘Copy Bible verse’ – if the verse[passage] is in the text box then just use ‘copy’, then go to the doc(x) and use the normal ‘paste’

I'd never noticed this difference. I'm using Win 7, have never had L4 on XP. When I use the "Copy and Paste" button it pastes into the current document I'm working on. Puzzling why it doesn't work for you. Perhaps you could post your diagnostic log file and that might help Logos track down what's going wrong, as it shouldn't behave the way you're experiencing it.

In the meantime, a workaround: instead of using the "Copy and Paste" button, use "Copy" and then Alt+Tab over to your Word document and paste in where you're currently working.

[Oops: in the time it took me to finish this, I got distracted and Room4more ended up posting essentially the same advice before I'd posted. Oh well, I guess that confirms that it's good advice.]

You can safely (and more efficiently) simply bypass the Logos feature in favor of the Windows OS Copy/Paste:

Highlight the text you want to copy
Press CTRL-C to copy it to the clipboard
ALT-TAB over to your Word doc
Press CTRL-V to paste it into your word doc at the cursor

Thanks for all the good tips. I'll have to figure out the "diagnostic log" thing so I can let Logos look at it. Time is important, and the extra steps to copy/alt/paste take some of that time.

Glad to know it's not a bug in 7, but something with MY computer. Thanks again all.

Mark, it is not the same as copying via CBV. It's format is rather as a regular quotation, not as a Bible reference. Here is an example:

17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
