Read aloud feature missing

Does anyone know why some personal books lack the "read aloud" feature? I can't figure out why some of my personal books have that feature and some don't. I selected randomly some of my Logos published books and the all seem to have that feature.

If I remember correctly, you need a Page index (page numbers) for Read Aloud to work. I checked a few of my PBs, and it seems that ones with Page numbers do have Read Aloud working, and ones that have no index do not have Page Aloud. See if that is accurate in your case.

The first one I tried was the one provided above. The second one was plain text.

My experience this evening indicates that the presence of bible milestones will (technically) enable Read Aloud, but the capability will be uneven, since the bible milestones don't typically occur as regularly as page numbers.

I did not know of, nor had I considered, this important aspect of page number milestones and will have to rethink parts of my PB strategy. Perhaps I'll write a Word macro that assigns Page milestones based on the pagination in Word. This, of course, would have no relevance to the pagination of the original document (if any), so it would have no academic or professional meaning (which I don't need), but would at least allow the resource to be more functional.

Here is another one that doesn't seem to have page milestones but it does have the read aloud feature.

Dominick may be right in that it has something to do with milestones but it doesn't seem to be page milestone related. Robert may be right. The attached document does have Bible milestones. Milestones or not, read aloud should be made to work in my opinion.

Likewise wish for read aloud in Vryso resources, which do not have page numbers, yet Logos seems to open to previous location within eBook.

For Read Aloud, starting with first word visible on screen would be terrific (if resource does not have milestones).

That would probably the case. There is though enough programming experience at Logos to make the read aloud feature work with or without milestones since, as "Keep Smiling" mentioned, there are plenty of resources published by either Logos/Vyrso or user made that don't have page numbers.

Let's hope this will get fixed.

If you (or anyone else reading this) put files with such pagination in the Files forum, please make sure to mention that the pagination isn't from the original, in order to warn people who might otherwise end up putting such a page number in a footnote. Personally, I think I will start a habit of turning such page numbers grey or red before compiling, to make sure I remember.

You may want to check the Files forum - IIRC someone (was it even Dominick from above?) already wrote this macro and distributed it.
