Hidden resources in L4 still showing in App & Vyrso

I moved a ton of the Latin and Greek Perseus books into  "hidden"  in L4. They remain hidden in the L4 library on my laptop, but not on my iPad or in Vyrso. Is there an additional step I'm missing?

    Hi Reid

Sorry but "hiddenness" doesn't currently affect the libraries on mobile apps.

If you really don't want the resources, you need to call Logos to remove the licenses from your account.

Thanks to both of you. Now I know! Looks like there might be a helpful change to be implemented down the road in that regard.

    Yes

There have been quite a few requests for more sophisticated library management in the iPad app (and in the Logos 4 application as well!)

I sometimes ramble on and on about this issue, but I don't like the term "hidden" resource because in L4, it doesn't hide, but deletes. A better term would be "archive," which is the term that every other reader uses. I would like to see an "archived" book section on the mobile app, allowing you to view these resources, but to keep them out of the primary library window.

    I think I will make this a suggestion. [:)]

    Surely not[:)]

But your ramblings make a very valid point

    Good idea[Y]

Wow, Graham, your answer really surprises me. I don't use the app/Vyrso and I love Perseus (actually I use Perseus most on Logos4, with Libronix for my Bible study).

But it does suprise me.  I try to imagine what in the app library load code might be so difficult concerning the 'hidden' attribute on the server. But I'll 'say no more'.

Let me be on the record as stating that the current situation (books archived [aka "hidden"] in L4 still show up in the mobile app library) is better than the alternative of the books being hidden on the mobile app without the ability to view them. I have not yet begun to hide Vyrso books in L4, but I suspect that I will do so in the near future. Some of the Vyrso books are really good, and I would want in L4. Others are fiction, biographies of sports figures, etc. I don't really want them in L4, but I certainly want to be able to read them on my iPad!

Well, Alabama, I don't a dog in this hunt, but when they intro'd Perseus months back, even Bob agreed there was an obvious problem. Your needs are pretty logical. I'd just hate to try using an iPhone with my Perseus (I just got rid of my fancy-dancy phone in favor of a pay-as-you-go).

But do you want to be able to read them in the Logos app or in Vyrso?

Maybe there's a case for being able to specify whether a resource should be "hidden", viewable in the Logos app or viewable in the Vyrso app.

    But this could get complicated....

Both, but I am firmly in the camp that a reworking of the library is needed. [Some Vyrso books don't need to be on my Logos app, but some do. Just this week I used 2 Vyrso books to help someone with sermon prep. I worked from the Logos app split screen.]

I agree, but only at the users direction.

Kindle does it. When you buy a kindle book, you can send send it to any device you want. You can download, or archive it on any device you want. This is exactly what the mobile apps & L4 need.

DREAM: It would be great to have three views on the mobile apps: Archived, Library, Downloaded. Furthermore, it would be good if filters could be created to allow better searching. For example, to have a "Vyrso" filter. When you activate that filter, you can search only Vyrso books.

+1 [Y] with alternative idea for mobile filtering of Library by collection(s).
