Reading Plan Bug
I'm struggling with a bug in the reading plan functionality on my iPhone and iPad. I'm running v2.0.2 on both devices, and the latest versions of iOS 5. I reported it to Logos Tech Support but simply got referred back to the forums. I don't recall exactly how long I've been having the problem, but here's a summary of what happens:
1) I select "Read The Message in One Year" from the reading plans section.
2) I select the first unchecked reading from the list.
3) The Message opens to the first verse in the reading, but the "Start Reading" banner does not appear above the verse.
4) I read and read and never see the "Stop Reading/Mark Read" banner, even when I've moved well past the end of the reading.
5) I then click on the Home button to return to the reading list.
6) I click the Home button again to go the the "front page of the app"
7) I select "Read The Message in One Year" from the reading plans section a SECOND time
8) I again select the same reading.
9) THIS time the "Start Reading banner appears at the top of the first verse in the reading. (Sometimes the "Start Reading" banner still does not appear at the top of the first verse of the reading passage on the page that loads. I then have to flip BACK one page to see the "Start Reading" banner and after that, things behave normally for that reading. I also experienced this in the past when reading through other Bible version reading lists.)
10) THIS time when I arrive at the end of the reading the "Stop Reading/Mark Read" appears.
This is the consistent pattern. I do not remember it happening when I had reading lists for the ESV or the NLT, so I don't know if the problem is limited to my "Read The Message in One Year" plan, or if it's a problem that would occur with any resource/reading list.
I never have the problem when opening the reading list on my computer. Only on the iOS devices.
Are any other users experiencing this bug, and, Logos Developers, and is there a fix in the works?

Brad - I have been told this is a known issue and has been fixed. I am using a beta version and have never experienced this problem… Hopefully that means that it truly is fixed. [:)]

Thanks, Alabama. That looks like a similar, but different problem. It looks like Dominick sees the "start reading" banner. I don't see it at all without going through the redundant steps I mentioned above.

The latest iOS app update (v2.1.3) seems to solve the problem, for the most part. The functionality has been restored, and I no longer have to go through the process indicated in my original post. After a few days of testing v2.1.3 I'm consistently getting the "mark read" banner at the end of daily reading sections.
The sporadic problem of the "start reading" banner not appearing when the passage loads, but then showing up at the bottom of the preceding page (see step 9 in the original post) persists. That's unsettling, given the history of reading plan issues, but it's merely a minor annoyance at this point. So far, with v2.1.3, whether the "start reading" banner is visible at the top of the reading section or not, the "mark read" banner appears at the end of the reading, and when "mark read" is clicked, the reading plan is syncing nicely with my computer. This is very encouraging. The iOS app reading plan functionality is working properly once again.

Today's update to v2.1.4 appears to have resolved the the remaining problem from step 9 in the original post in this thread. I've only tested it a handful of times, but so far that bug appears to be a thing of the past. Thank you to the development team.
