Entry of English Words in the BWS
Lets say I want to know the Hebrew word or words translated as peradventure in the KJV (Gen. 24:39). I can open a KJV Bible and right click and get what I want. But if my preferred translation is something else and I am going from memory on that word and lets say I don't know where it is exactly, I can't just enter it in the Bible Word Study reference box because that word doesn't occur in the translation I am using, so it will not do anything, just stays blank. I would think a better behavior would be to give me the option of changing translations and then trying again. Instead I have to change my preferred Bible in the library and then change the translation settings in the BWS. I believe this could be improved. Does anyone agree?

Use the search feature setting it to: Bible
All bible text | Entire Bible | ‘preferred version here’
“Type in your English word”
after the results you can change 'Entire Bible' to a specific book of the bible....or you do this
http://wiki.logos.com/Choose_preferred_Bible oops my bad...from the library click your bible tab then over far right "prioritize" and add 5 of your preferred bibles for the "top bibles" list..i have eight and they work accordingly..
then select "top bibles" after you choose them and have them saved...
I did as you say, then I typed in an 'english' word and the BWS responed giving different interpretations[lemmas] of the word...

R4M, If I make the KJV1900 my second prioritized Bible, and then I open the BWS and enter a word exclusive to KJV like peradventure, I get a blank page. Do you get something different? Doing a search is a different subject altogether, however I appreciate your response, but I am not sure we are talking about the same thing.

Peradventure[perhaps] may not be the same in another translation

This would solve the problem but would add another option into the UI - I guess something like the dropdown menu which allows you to choose a translation in the Bible Search window.

Another option would be to search your collection of English Bibles for the word you are interested in, open the translation with the word and then execute the BWS from there.
It sames having to mess about with preferences and - I think - gives you what you need with just a couple of intermediate steps.

PERADVENTURE is a word that pleases purists because it is all Latin in origin, whereas "perhaps" couples Latin "per" with Anglo-Saxon "hap." "Peradventure," "percase," "perchance" are words that came into English through the Norman Conquest; "perhaps" appeared later, but has outlived all three. Shakespeare was fond of "perchance," which he used 45 times to 16 times for "peradventure" and 27 times for "perhaps." KJ does not use "perchance" and has "perhaps" only 3 times, but uses "peradventure" 32 times. The references can be located by the list in Strong’s Concordance, to which must be added Genesis 24:5; 24:39; 27:12, occurrences which he missed."Peradventure" as an adverb is obsolete in the sense of by chance; it is archaic in the sense of perhaps. As a noun it survives in phrases like "beyond all peradventure." RSV does not use "peradventure," and usually replaces it with "perhaps." It uses "suppose" in Abraham’s pleading with the Lord for Sodom (Genesis 18:22–33) and "it may be that" (50:15), "I thought that" (31:31), "he feared that" (38:11; 42:4), "I fear to see" (44:34), in other passages in Genesis.

+1 [Y] since have encountered opening a Bible Word Study (BWS) for travail from a Favorites shortcut does not work. Currently, the English drop down list of words is filtered to those that occur in your Top prioritized Bible. Edit: highest prioritized Bible with reverse interlinear tagging. For grins, prioritized the Complete Jewish Bible first, then used right click on Ruach in Ephesians 4:30 to open BWS, but deleting some characters showed Ruach was not in drop down list for BWS English word choices (ru has list of words that begin with rubbed)
Personally wish English word list could be filtered by Translation(s) in custom guide template (or all English translations that have appropriate tagging for use in Greek Word and Hebrew Word sections).

I guess not too frequently. This tool would have been designed for original language research. Hhmmm I would not necessarily say that. I have use it when I know the word from the English verse but can’t remember exactly where it was….such as you, or from one translation to another…that why you have at least three concrdnce.

Which is very limiting when it is still a bible word, but Logos say that this is their design...
I use the command lookup to get my non-ESV definitions! e.g. lookup peradventure goes to prioritized New Strong's Guide to Bible Words.
