Logos crashing on startup

My problems began after I downloaded the free book of the month and restarted Logos. After the restart, Logos almost always crashes as it tries to load (it shows the “Signing In” window and then crashes). I’ve restarted my computer twice. I’ve tried opening the program with Wi-Fi both on and off. With it off, I get to the “Work Offline” window, but after I choose that option it still crashes. Sometimes it will bring up the crash report (I’ve attached the text from one of them).

The two times it didn’t crash right away, after a little time, it will “open”, but I can only access the menu, the actual program window doesn’t load. If I try to access any menu option (e.g. try to open a Guide, Preferences, Home, etc.), nothing happens.

Any ideas of what to do now?

I’m running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and Logos 4.52.2176 (61452.8.128)

Seems that I had similar problems with one of the RC releases of 4.5b. I installed the application manually. You can find it @ this link

Just drag it into the Applications Folder and let it replace the one that is already there. If that does not fix the problem, post back, and we will see what to do next.

BTW: Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask questions if you need assistance.

Looking at Indexer.log noticed crash is happening after initializing update manager.  Likewise Logos4.log has an error Invalid database: for an update manager database file.

    Hence, wonder about moving file:

    /Users/Juwa/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Data/fublv0cr.5ul/UpdateManager/Updates.db

to the trash, then try launching Logos 4.5b on Mac, which should create a new update manager database file.

I trashed the database file and restarted Logos. The program got hung up because of the Logos4Indexer process like it sometimes does. I “Force Quit”-ed it through Activity Monitor and Logos sprang to life. I’m doing the “Rebuild Index” and the Logos4Indexer process is behaving now. So everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help guys!
