Reading Plan Fiasco after update
ok...I had a specific reading plan: Read NAB NT in 6 months. Everything was great. Then the update. Suddenly, I have a "Read the Bible in a Year" plan on Iphone and Ipad that I did not have before. The NAB NT in 6 months is gone.
So I go to the desktop. Yep, the one year is on that, too, but so is NAB NT. I delete the Bible in one year from my reading plans so now, on the desktop, it shows ONLY the NAB NT. But on my iphone and ipad, it STILL only shows the Read the Bible in One Year.
I have tried closing out the apps and restarting, hoping it would sync so that the NAB in 6 months shows up, but to no avail. (the desktop program also updated, btw)
This is very frustrating. Help?

Suddenly, I have a "Read the Bible in a Year" plan on Iphone and Ipad that I did not have before.
The "Read the Bible in a Year" is a default plan. If no other plans are on the device, this will be created. It can be successfully deleted ONLY if another plan is present on the device. This explains why it is coming back.

This is the New American Bible? Does the bible appear at all on your mobile app? Can you give me more specifics about the plan itself?

Explain how you "closed" out the app (i.e. was it a full shut down)?
This is very frustrating. Help?
Try creating a brand new plan, just to check the sync. Use the ESV, just for the sake of troubleshooting.

The 6 month plan I created is still showing up on the laptop. It just is not syncing over to my devices.

Hi Steve
When I updated to the new version on the iPad yesterday I too ended up with just the default "Read the Bible in a year" plan.
As Alabama pointed out this is the "default" plan for when there are no other plans defined. So it sounds as though part of the update process involved removing the existing plans from the iPad app which resulted in the default one being put in place. (The process might be slightly different but it must be doing something like this)
After leaving the app for some minutes the original plans were reinstated (I assume via sync) from the Logos servers leaving me with the original plans and the "default one".
I then deleted the default one from the iPad app and everything is now working.
So - from what I have seen - having the plans disappear and be replaced by the default one is a "normal" part of the process (though I don't think it's a helpful one!) and the issue is one of not subsequently syncing with the Logos servers.
So it sounds like there is a sync problem which from what you have posted is your conclusion as well.
Hence (I believe) the suggestion to try and create a new plan (based on the ESV) to see if that synchronises.
Have you downloaded the new version to your iPhone as well?

After the update my IPad had to completely sync and during this time the default plan only showed up, after the syncing all 11 of my reading plans showed up.

My point was to try to trouble shoot and see if there was a problem with the reading plan, rather than the sync. My advice is to create a new plan, not for reading purposes, but for troubleshooting. I suggested the ESV to help eliminate variables which might be causing troubles.

Same experience as Graham and Kenneth. All is well!

How long did it take your iPad to fully sync? I've left mine open for awhile and still no change. I had a Chronological yearly reading for ESV. It's on the Mac, but not iOS.

The sync can be a little fidgety sometimes. Have you killed the app to force a sync yet?

You used the past tense "had." Do you have a current up-to-date (5/3/12) reading plan on your Mac?

Yes, I killed the app, shut off the iPad and restarted. I used "had" to reference the missing plan. It is still up and current on my Mac. Both iPad and Mac have latest updates.

Dont have too many downloaded resources. Just deleted and reinstalled the app. After log in and sync, still the default reading plan.

Logos 4 Mac. Latest version.
Sorry. I see that you said that above. [:$]
Have you tried creating a new plan just for testing purposes? Create a simple reading plan using the ESV on your Mac and see what happens. Make sure to manually sync your desktop app & kill your mobile app to force a sync.

Did all that you recommended and new reading plan did not appear in mobile app.

Hi Tyler,
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this issue. I'm running the latest stable version of Logos (4.52.0.2176) on an iMac and Logos 2.1.3 on my iPad. I can create Reading Plans on the Desktop side, click the Sync button (top right), then force quit and restart Logos on the iPad and new Reading Plans sync properly. I'll try a couple of other scenarios and let you know if I can reproduce it. Thanks!

Note to self - never update apps before going on vacation. I normally use http://biblia.com for my daily reading plan. I started my plan on Feb 2011 with the plan to finish by Dec 2012. Every once in a blue moon, I would use the iphone app, but it really was more of my fall-back. I updated several apps before leaving on vacation this week (including Logos Bible). While on vacation I opened my bible on the iphone to discover a single plan: Read the Bible in a Year
I know right off it was not my plan cause I had custom named my plan when I created it. I tried restarting the app to no avail. Unfortunately the http://biblia.com site does not support reading plans in mobile view. After returning home and reading through this forum thread, I created a new plan and deleting the app, I was able to get a new plan caught back up to my current reading location. It was pretty frustrating and really bad timing, but it all worked out.
I am not sure if this will help the developers figure out what went wrong with this update, but clearly something was not quite right. But I'm glad to be back on my plan. Thanks!
(Side-note: I'm still praying reading plans will work on my Kindle Fire soon.)

Hi Will - and welcome to the forums
(Side-note: I'm still praying reading plans will work on my Kindle Fire soon.)
Reading plans work on the latest Android beta - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/49258.aspx - so I would have thought this would work on your Kindle Fire

For those of you with missing plans, please email your logs to iphone@logos.com using the "Send support info" link in the About screen. Please include a note that reading plans are not syncing. This will help us determine the cause. Thanks.

Thanks for the troubleshooting tips, I've just sent my log to the specified address (thanks Dave, and thanks alabama for the process of getting them.)
It seems weird that my plans seemed to sync fine with 2.1.2 but fell over when i upgraded... the "joys" of programming (yes i'm a tech, so am familiar with what can go wrong).
Loving the usefulness of Logos software.

Thanks, Alabama. Just sent my logs.
Don't know if it helps or not, but it seems syncing from iOS to Logos 4 Mac works just fine, just not the other way around. When I click on the default reading plan "Read the Bible in a Year" on my iPhone/iPad, it downloads and when I look on my Mac, the reading plan appeared. However, when I create a new plan on my computer, or even customize the default plan to match my previous chronological plan, the changes do not appear on my mobile devices.
