Thanks for the heads-up Kevin. I have about three commentary sets that I plan on keeping updated as new or revised volumes come out and NAC is one of them. Question, usually when I am studying Revelation I use one of two commentaries. My favorite is Revelation: Four Views by Steve Gregg.  Do you think that the author of this volume will explore different views of Revelation or simply focus on the one that he believes to be the correct one. If it is the latter, do you know what view he teaches?

    Thanks.

I don't know how he handles different views, but he approaches Revelation from a pre-mill viewpoint. Here's a link where he discusses the commentary -- http://www.swbts.edu/campusNews/story.cfm?id=21F1C58B-15C5-E47C-F9E2C4466C04505C

Thanks for the article. I am very happy to see this commentary come out. Patterson subscribes to dispensational premilennialism.

Here is CBD's product description which clearly labels his position as pemil/pre-trib:

EDIT: This will make a nice companion volume with NAC's Daniel commentary written by Stephen Miller - who also writes from a premillennial position.

As an FYI, the volume this post started to be about is listed on Amazon as not being available till Sept 1.

BTW I know for a fact that Paige Patterson was working on this volume when I was in seminary. He was our president at the time. I graduated in 1998. Better late than never Paige.

I would buy it but it's been written from a pre-mill stand point and that's as false as it can get.  When will premill understand that that's not the way to interpret Revelation.  Look at all the dumb left behind series and dumb predictions by JW and other groups taking the premill approach.  Only an idiot would believe that Christ will establish a second kingdom here on earth that will last 1000 years.  The kingdom is the church! (Col. 1:13-14; Heb. 12:28; Rev. 1:9; Matt. 16:19; Mark 9:1; etc.).  Anyway go ahead and report the abuse Bill LOL that old guizzard is always on the alert to report abuse in his own eyes...LOL

Attention all premills will go to hell for believing and following a lie...LOL

Your dear friend in a funny mood!

LOL how presumptions and ironic that the author is in a subtle way accusing us and commentators of "misreading" the book of Revelation.  Who does he think he is to claim his right and all commentators, pastors and professors who don't take his view are wrong.  I wish I could debate him on his positions he would go away like an embarrassed dog with his tale between his legs when I get done with him.  Thus far no premill has been able to prove anything when i've taken them to task and they either end up getting mad or with no words to say.  In fact some have even changed their false view and switched to another view because they realized they were wrong.  Hopefully this dude will do th esame and do a revision on his wasted time commentary.

I'd rather read Carson's view or any other view than the premill view.  shame shame whoever came up with it.  There's another abuse to report B.
