Robert, breathe in .... out .... in.....out
your second option, copy paste to onenote. I have one note. Explain for me how you paste something like a set of clippings you have put together into Onenote. If I can do this I am set.
Thanks
EddieEddie,
I wasn't specifically talking about clippings because in my mind they ARE a OneNote clone...not quite finished; so to me..it makes little sense to copy from clippings to one note...I'd just go right to OneNote...but since you asked...
Take any clipping....use the Windows + S key combo and do a screen clipping of your clipping in Logos...then you can organize your clips...you can turn them into editable text.. print them....whatever...
I feel a little misled
L4 was pitched as a revolution in Bible study. Maybe one day L4 will be that, but right now, it's not very helpful. It's not the revolution they made it out to be. It should be a beta, not a final RC, until they get the functionality built into it. I have been using Logos for about 10 yrs. I have always been a huge fan. I purchased a mac upgrade a while back for my macbook pro so I wouldn't have to run it in VM ware. This, of course, was a huge mistake. The mac platform never really got off the ground. Oh well, money down the drain.
Now, I purchased the L4 upgrade, and I am disappointed. An incredible amount of core functions are nowhere to be found. I will keep working with it, but I don't care much for it. It seems like important functions have been stripped out. I don't even care much for the interface.
Now, many will say "just wait for the nice folks at Logos to fix this... they have demonstrated their aptitude and desire to do so." My response: "what about the mac platform I bought into late last year. That died. Logos didn't come through on that.
It really seems like L4 is a step backwards. I feel like I'm using Bible navigator or something. It's unsettling. I have always been a logos cheerleader, but now... not so much.
not real happy with Logos anymore.

Isn't the little red thing in the upper right corner like a "push pin" which indicates that that window is always in the top position?

I think its a real push pin, Maybe even a Nail...Hey Damian, why don't you try hammering a nail into your monitor and see if the program stays on top?

I don't know OneNOte. It's just that I've seen the same "pic" in other programs. I am just guessing!
Randy,
It's a bit of an "inside joke" very very inside...you are better off not knowing...
OneNote is a "quick jot it down" sort of app from MS that you can put most anything into...it's kind of a manilla folder for quick ideas, so you an gather info and not worry about much else...then, when you are ready....you organize the ideas into whatever you want; a presentation, sermon...whatever...

I've used Logos since V 1.6. Every upgrade since has been well worth the time spent to learn the new interface, although I understand the frustration. This is the first time I have felt like it was beta version release. I upgraded last Thursday and still haven't been able to finish indexing, even on my brand new laptop. Tech Support is great at first but then seem to not follow up very quickly at all. Guys, I know you are swamped. I live in the middle of nowhere and think it is important to consider the needs of those of us who don't have much of a high speed internet option. I have hughesnet and can only make large downloads between 2-7 am or I get fapped, I have gotten fapped a lot this week and have been setting my alarm to get up at 2:00 am for updates. Since my job was eliminated a few months ago I'm sure I have had way more time than the average new customer to mess around and try to get everything working. I'm sick of it. I see the potential and am looking forward to when the installation and indexing is done so I can really give it a whirl. I think the first priority of tech support should be getting everyone through installation and indexing and I'm not very impressed so far...
Michael,
if you've been indexing for a week + there is a problem....and it's not related to downloads....indexing is not downloading....they are separate operations.
Get on the phone with tech support again and stress that a week and a day is not acceptable....

I live in the middle of nowhere and think it is important to consider the needs of those of us who don't have much of a high speed internet option. This is where emphasizing the DVD rather than download should be done. I realize the downloads have been the focus, but the DVD should be emphasized. I agree with you here.

Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.
Robert and Thomas, thanks for the quick reply. I did order the DVD but couldn't wait so I started downloading. I have been working with Tech Support since Wednesday but they have not solved the problem yet, the program kept crashing for a couple of days also, I've also been posting in the forums and have learned a lot, just not a solution for the slow indexing. FAP stands for satellite internet providers (Fair Access Policy) I have the Pro Plus Plan which means I can only download 425 MB a day. If I go over that I get fapped and sent back to less than dial-up speed for 24 hours. From 2-7 am there is no FAP in place so I have my Windows Update set to download then. I hope Logos will offer the same option. Of course, if it's a small update it doesn't matter. While I was typing this my older laptop appears to have finally finished indexing. Is there a way to transfer the index file from one computer to another? Thanks again!
FAP stands for satellite internet providers (Fair Access Policy)...Ahh, thank you. I thought maybe it was "capped" but that still needed explanation to me.

I sit corrected at the feet of Master Thomas. Missed that thread.

Michael,
it will have to do two things;
1.) download resources
2.) Index them
If both of these aren't complete, then weird things will happen...
One thing to check is to try a basic search for god and use "entire library" as the resource to search.
If you get a beigh stripe and it saying "indexing is underway" or something then you have to still index....
If the search goes off without a hitch...then you're good to go.
It might say "indexing" or "you need to merge"
In either case...do it....

So, this last post was months ago... is there now a way to bring my "highlights" from Libronex into Logos 4. I had been going through John Pipers sermon series on Romans and had a lot of things highlighted which, of course, have not come through to Logos 4.
I also do not like that I cannot get a good list of all my resources to show like the simple way they displayed in the earlier software. I want to be able to print out my Library in Logos 4 because to compare with my printout from the earlier version so that I can easily check to make sure all my resources transferred. It feels like they did not.

I'm not sure about your highlight import function, so I'll leave that to someone with more knowledge. You can print out a biography of your library.
1. Create a collection with the rule rating:>=0. This will create a collection of your entire library.
2. open the panel menu for the collection panel.
3. select "export to bibliography"

Yes, if you are running 4.0b type the command "Import Highlighting" into the command box. Other things can be imported from Libronix, see:http://wiki.logos.com/Importing_from_LDLS3
