Questions about books
When I search for a book to see if its available on Logos does it cross reference between the general library and the basic packages if I were to upgrade? Here's an example in case I'm not being clear. Let's say I want to buy ABC book. and its available for $100 as part of a collection but the same book is also available if I upgrade my base package from Bible Study to Leader's which is only $60.

Not sure I know what you mean by the general library, but most, if not all, individual titles on the Logos site will list the collections they are also available in.
Here's an example of a book in the Leader's Library that is not in the Bible Study Library:
Pastor, North Park Baptist Church
Bridgeport, CT USA

Looking at a base package comparison => http://www.logos.com/comparison found an example offered on Logos.com => Changing Lives Through Preaching and Worship that shows this title is part of a collection (on the upper right side of the product page). Caveat: product page does not show your base package upgrade amount => http://www.logos.com/upgrade
Another example is my favorite commentary series => The United Bible Societies' New Testament Handbook Series (20 vols.) whose product page shows series is included in Scholar's Gold and above. Wiki has Logos Resource Reviews with => UBS New Testament Handbook Series and => UBS Old Testament Handbook Series
Scholar's Gold includes all titles in Leader's library plus many more, including => The Passion Driven Sermon: Changing the Way Pastors Preach and Congregations Listen
Thankful for Logos payment plan option: no interest charged on outstanding balance, but does have a monthly processing fee.

The way I read you is : what is the book worth to you? is it worth all the other books u would get with the other package, meaning all the extra's - OR - would you rather just have that one resource w/out the other hoop-la that comes with the package, having books that you would rather not have?

If you would rather not have some books which come in your package, you can always "hide" them. That's something I don't prefer to do because it seems as though you're throwing out something you paid for, but since I'll never use certain books, there is no reason to keep them on my HD.
