L4Android looking on Internet to find already downloaded books?

I've wondered a few times whether this is happening or not. I've downloaded a lot of books to the SD card, but when trying to look up a passage in John on the NIV84, and then again when trying to use the Comparison tool, L4A seemed to be trying to connect to the internet to find it, and I got a "network connection down" or similar message, though I'm sure all the versions in the Compare tool are downloaded. I'll check to make sure that's true.
