Right click frustration

I haven't used my Logos for a couple of weeks but when I started using it today I realized I use right-click a lot. Now for some reason, when I right click and something is highlighted, I get it audibly read to me. Even when all I want to do is add a note. And if nothing is highlighted, I often get the resource closed.
Each time, I get a big black image that appears over my window with the window shaded behind it. I guess this is some new feature. Is there some way to disable it?
I'm running OSX 10.7.4 and Logos 4.5b SR-1 (4.52.0.2194).

Sounds like you've discovered gestures, a relatively new feature. From the Logos Help: "Gestures are an easy way to perform common functions without having to move your hand away from your mouse or position it over toolbar buttons or menus." See the Logos Help for how to use them.
Some of us would like a way to shut them off, but thus far there isn't: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/41907/365031.aspx#365031

Mike - can you share some screen shots?

No, I can't get them that fast. Now that I see these are "gestures," I'd like to be able to disable them too. They're very poorly implemented.

Mike - I don't think this is a Logos issue. Perhaps check in your System Preferences.

Curious about a screenshot of your Magic Trackpad preferences ?

It is a Logos issue, one that happens with the Magic Trackpad when you have the secondary click set to "two finger."
All it takes is a slight slip as you are making a right click to accidentally activate a Logos gesture.

Are you telling me that your computer talks to you too when you make gestures? It also has a black bar show up when you make gestures?

Yes, if you accidentally make the Logos gesture for reading aloud while trying to right click using the two finger click on a Magic Trackpad it will read aloud. That gesture is a little hard to accidentally make, but it's possible.
I take the "big black image" the OP described as the two by two black overlay that pops up when a Logos gesture is activated.
Do you have a Magic Trackpad? If you do, try this...set the secondary click to "two finger," and then when you make a right click in Logos, let your fingers slip just a little.

Does you app look something like this? Have you tried turning OFF VoiceOver in System Preferences (OSX, not Logos)?

Can you describe the motion?

All the Logos gesture motions are listed in the Logos Help. Open Help, type gestures in the search box.
This particular motion is an angle bracket. This is a screenshot of the black overlay that pops up:
Do you have a Magic Trackpad? Can you try doing this?

For other's reference: http://wiki.logos.com/Gestures#Gestures_for_Navigating_a_Resource
I got this to work by doing a backwards "L," which seems different than what was described in the wiki.

I was able to reproduce this, but it had nothing to do with text being highlighted, nor did was the highlighted text "read aloud." The "read aloud" feature worked as normal, starting at the beginning of the page.

My screen looks like this right before the most common behavior, which is closing the window. I'm not using a trackpad, but a Logitech mouse and a bluetooth Apple keyboard.

Do you accidentally jiggle the mouse slightly while holding the right click button?

Curious about Magic Trackpad settings ?
The gestures "work" when two fingers push the trackpad down, functioning as a "right click."

After enabling one finger secondary click on Mac OS X, was able to push down on Magic Trackpad (click in secondary area), then start Read Aloud and Close Tab when trying to stop Read Aloud.
Wonder if changing "Secondary click" settings has any effect on Logos 4 Mac gesturing ? (personally use one and two finger taps instead of push down clicks)

As far as I know, I use the "default" settings.

My trackpad tap preferences are customized settings, which seems to avoid Logos 4 Mac gesture surprises (albeit does need a bit lighter touch since tap does not click).
