    Hello Sam,

"Offline" mode does not restrict Logos 4 from using your phone's data capabilities. It just enables you access to that book when your device has no internet connection.

"Offline" mode does not restrict Logos 4 from using your phone's data capabilities.

    I think I should clarify a little bit…

    1. When you download a book, it is available to you when you are offline (due to being in "airplane mode" or the lack of a wifi/3G connection).
    2. When you access a resource, downloaded or not, your app may use your data plan to sync resource locations, notes, highlights, etc.
    3. When you don't have an internet connection, Logos enters "offline mode" which seems to be persistent (meaning that it doesn't turn back to "online mode" when your device reconnects to internet, at least not for purposes of accessing your non-downloaded resources in the library). To go back "online," you have to kill the app via the multi-task bar. [side note: apps technically don't "close" by default, but hibernate until "killed" via the multitask bar or due to lack of memory.]

I think Tommy meant that when you download a resource, the app still uses data (via your data plan or wifi). When the Logos app is in "Offline mode," it is telling you that there is not an internet connection, and would therefore not be using data.

I know that is a lot to chew on. Feel free to ask follow ups. [:)]

Let me correct myself. I am on a beta build, so it is possible that this doesn't apply to the released version… I just checked and the app did successfully switch from "offline mode" to "online mode". This may be a bug fix in the beta build, or it may have occurred earlier and I didn't notice. At one point the app would not go back online without killing the app, but this seems to be fixed on my app.

Yes. This is an iOS setting, not a Logos one. You can find "airplane mode" at the top of the iOS settings in the "settings" app. By the way, it is called "airplane mode" because you generally have to turn off cellular service while flying. This mode turns off your phone, 3G & wifi, but allows you to use your iPhone as an iPod (play games, use apps, listen to music, etc).
