Logos 4 keeps crashing on iPad 3
Can I please ask why my logos 4 software crashes every 2/3 minutes on my brand new iPad 3. I use logos 4everyday and have done for years, this is really frustrating. Can you help?

Hi David - and welcome to the forums.
Technically it isn't Logos 4 software on the iPad (Logos 4 is for desktop / laptop environments) but the Logos app which Logos has provided.
Please advise:
- what version of the Logos app you are running (from "More - About")
- what version of iOS
- what you are doing when the app crashes - assuming there is anything particular
- whether you get the same crashes when using the app online and offline

Let me reiterate what Graham said... it is probably better to not use the term "logos 4 software" when referring to the mobile app. The iPad does NOT run Logos4, but rather the Logos Mobile App for iOS. It is better to reserve "Logos4" or "L4" for your desktop computer. This is how you will read these terms used in the forums. [:)]
Graham has asked some good questions. For us to be any help, we need a better idea of what is going on with your installation. The app isn't crashing because you have a brand new iPad. If it were that simple, I would be willing to trade you my first gen model. [:)] Perhaps I will ask one more question until we hear back from you… when the app crashes, is it still in the process of a sync (i.e. is the sync wheel spinning continually once you open the app until it closes)? One thing you can keep an eye on is your app program size. Do you know how much room Logos is taking up on your device? You can find that by navigating to iOS Settings / General / Usage / Storage. One possibility is that the app is having difficulties doing its first download of your notes/preferences, etc. If the sync wheel IS continuing to spin, it might be good to see how large your app is over the course of several crashes to see if it is getting larger. NOTE: If you are watching the file size, don't download any new resources. That would defeat the purpose of looking at the file size! [;)]

David, my iPad 3 works perfectly, and I suspect Alabama is correct. You might try deleting the program, and reload it again.

I was having the same problems on my Ipad 3 and I deleted the program, reloaded it again and it works as good as new.

Sometimes, that is the best solution, which is one of the reasons I try to discourage users from downloading their entire library. Glad it's working for you. [:)]

logos app has just started crashing on my ipad (Latest one), ios 6.1.3, latest update. Logos app is the latest update. It crashes when I try to click the hebrew OT reading from Catholic lectionary and wright's 12 months of Sundays. It's never caused me any trouble before. I can get the readings direct from the Bible but not from clicking the link in the lectionary/commentary. No other problems. I can get round this one by opening the reading straight from the Bible, which is preferable at the moment to uninstalling and reinstalling. I killed the app, which didn't help. Haven't rebooted ipad, but shall have to do that anyway as it has a habit of disconnecting from my internet (doesn't do it with anyone else's!) and the only cure I've found is to switch ipad off, reboot internet, and switch ipad back on.
Annoying problem, but not crippling. Any ideas, other than reinstalling logos app?

Instead of bringing up the text, it crashes. Same thing with links to OT passages in 12 months of Sundays. It should bring up the Hebrew text. No problems with bringing up Greek NT passages.

What do you mean by "bring up the Hebrew text"? Do you mean actually Hebrew, or the English translation in your Bible? I think I used the same resource as in your screenshot without a crash. It pulls up my preferred English bible.
Do you have your panels linked? Do you have the resource downloaded? If its downloaded, try deleting the resource and trying to use it via the cloud... Then try redownloading it.

It normally brings up my preferred Hebrew bible. If I tap go to reference at the bottom of thempop up window, it brings the Bible text in the other window. Till it went on strike!

when I deleted Hebrew Bible, but not lectionary, the reference loaded fine from internet. When I reinstalled Hebrew Bible, it crashed again. When I deleted lectionary, it still crashe

You need to create a new thread, and explain the issue clearly. I think your issue may be related to the use of the Greek & Hebrew texts, so make sure you explain what resources you are using and how you have things prioritized.

Way round problem. My Bible of choice was and still is sbl greek. I have set esv as second choice, and OT comes up in that. Go to reference in other panel. I then go to Hebrew Bible in history. This is roundabout, but less hassle than reinstalling programme.

At this point, I don't think reinstalling would do anything for you. I think the problem is in the hebrew resource (did you say which one?) within the popup window.

I think my Hebrew resource of choice is Discourse Hebrew Bible, and next choice is an interlinear Hebrew, I don't know whether it's Lexham or afat.
Incidentally my ipad sometimes freezes when I'm writing a post to a forum, and not only Logos. If I go back to correct something it doesn't let me write any more, tho I can send the message. Which happened on at least one of my messages to this thread.

When that happens, dismiss the keyboard and bring it back up again… you should be able to resume at that point.
