Posting to the Forums using an iPad workaround!

Hi All!

I sometimes find posting to the forums using my iPad to be a bit of a pain. To format anything is really not fun…links can only be posted with the full URL instead of text that is hyperlinked. I found an app on the iPad that actually gets rid of the problem…for me at least!

The app is called Writing Kit - Research & Write Markdown/Fountain Documents, and you can compose it in markdown and then export it as HTML by telling it to export the HTML Source Code and copy to the clipboard. Once you have done this, just go to the posting screen and tap HTML. Paste the HTML from your clipboard. The tap update. Once back to the posting screen tap in the text box and then tap post.

I used Writing Kit to compose this post. I really find it helpful if I want to use multiple links in a post. It includes a browser that can go to a web page and insert the link to the editor (they show it as hyperlinked text). I hope this might be a solution for some.

Blessings in Christ!

Philana

I an not inclined to paying for an expensive app just to enhance posting on this forum. It is great that you found a way...I prefer to wait for Logos to fix it and yes, it fails at times and is impossible to edit posts, particularly if you want to edit something after minutes have elapsed. What I can find as free Bible apps for the iPad are much less frustrating than using the Logos app which is inconsistent even in simple searching. Passage Guide works and that I am thankful for but simple things, such as hovering over a blue linked that works with Strong's but does not link to other resources is most disappointing.

I don't think it is really an issue of Logos fixing it, but rather a limitation of the mobile safari browser.

Doubtful, mobile safari doesn't limit anything as long as plugins aren't involved.

I am not sure what you mean, but mobile safari doesn't handle any of the forums I visit well. For example, I frequently have to hide the keyboard and bring it back up to continue typing. Also, it took an iOS update to even be able to type in the forums at all outside of "html" mode.
