Was wondering if anyone new how Logos for Mac will be affected on the new MacBook Pro with Retina Display? Will it look blurry? Is there a plan for an update?

I believe that the app would have to be doubled… it would look like iPhone only apps on an iPad.
Is there a plan for an update?
I am sure that there will be at some point… but I can't imagine many Logos users running out to buy this computer (it starts @ $2200).
Hopefully Logos will update their program rather quickly. I'm switching from Windows to Mac with this release. Ordered it yesterday after saving my church budget for almost a year. I work with videos as well so the Retina Display will be nice for that.

I think Logos has been aware the new displays were headed our way, so hopefully they are prepared.
Apparently the new MacBooks with retina display are selling like hotcakes, already shipping times are getting longer, thus supply is being sold off quickly.
I work with videos as well so the Retina Display will be nice for that.
If you are trying to do video, you would be better suited with a desktop. You could save money too. In fact, you could buy TWO computers for the price.
It sure would be nice to use Logos on the Retina display Mac, as I like reading the books on the iPad's retina display. But I've updated my current Macbook Pro to be at its fullest potential in memory and a SSD. So I won't be buying a new one this time. The speed of Logos is awesome on the SSD. I'll have to wait a few years at least before I jump for the amazing clarity of fonts on Retina displays though.

The answer to this is, "it depends."
While I don't have access to one of the new laptops yet, the sharpness of an application will depend on how exactly the different elements wound up on the screen in the first place.
If an app happened to be written in just the right way and had all of the required high-res art assets, then the whole app would be ready to go with no changes.
More likely, however, is standard things, such as the menu bar, and standard buttons and text fields, will be all ready to go as those are handled by Apple's code. Any art that is already high resolution and is drawn directly to the screen (and not resized off-screen) will also be sharp. Any art (most likely buttons) that is not highres or rendered off screen will be blurry. Text may be sharp if the portion of the software that renders text is retina ready (anything rendered directly to the screen by Apple's code will be ready). Text rendered by a third-party library may not be ready. Much of Logos uses a third-party version of WebKit. The version of WebKit that comes with OS X will render sharply, but the third party version may or may not be retina aware.
Redoing art for retina is a long and tedious process. There may be hundreds or thousands of bits of artwork for the app alone and hundreds of thousands for the resources. Some of it (most likely that in resources) may never find its way into a high-res format if the original has been lost to time. I don't know who generates most of the app artwork for Logos, but if they are like the company I work for, much of the artwork is outsourced to a graphics art firm. Between the iPad 3 and Retina MacBook, these firms are probably pretty busy bringing millions of individual art pieces up to Retina resolution.
So, in a word, be patient. If you find something that looks pixelated or blurry, kindly let the Logos developers know. It's easy for small bits of artwork to go unnoticed with this sort of thing.
Now if we could just get the web as a whole to do Retina art. :-P
Just ordered mine this week! I use logos several hours a day. I hope I'm not disappointed with how it renders on the new MPR I couldn't handle reading fuzzy print that long....
Logos looked terrible on the retina screen until the 4.5c release today. Â Now it looks beautiful!
To add to my above post, Office looks fuzzy on the retina MBP. Â I downloaded LibreOffice and the text looks great.
Yep. Confirmed. Logos is now fully Retina-enabled and looks as good as any of the Retina-ready apps that Apple shipped with the laptop. I'm amazed Logos got this working so fast.
I could only hope that Adobe would release CS6 this fast. InDesign looks terrible.
The topics Cloud on my MBP Retina is all jumbled. Anyone?

I'm running 4.6 on a 2.7 Ghz i7 retina display MacBook Pro with 16 GB of RAM, running OS X 10.8.2 (yes, that's correct). Logos is version 4.6.
I'd be interested to hear if others who don't have the retina display are having similar results, or if this is, in fact, a retina display issue.

I have the same issue. Doesn't really bother me. Other than that everything is wonderful. I'm on the rMBP.Â
