Is the New iPad worth $200 more than a refurbished iPad2?
Those of you who upgraded to the New iPad, is it really worth $200 more than a refurbished iPad2?

I usually stay away from posts like this but. . .
Maybe, but if you don't want access to iOS 6 when it comes out this Fall.

Then maybe you should or at the least follow your own advice…..perhaps you should take it to faithlife.com. As some would say that this thread is way out of bounds of the forum guidelines, it is good to see that the Logos emblem is equal to us in being guilty of not abiding.....Thanks.

The OS6 features a plus with the New iPad, I was wondering about the new display for using Logos, is it a big improvement? Does anything else about the New iPad make it better for using Logos. (This will be my many use. I doubt I will play any games on it. May watch some movies on it. Will do email, facebook and web surfing.)

What's wrong with this question? The choice between having 64 GB to place all my library on vs. having only 16 GB but a better display is a very valid question.

The display is a considerable improvement, not just in aesthetics, but in readability. To me, it is the number one reason to get the "new" iPad. If you don't really care, don't spend the money.

Seeing that I am purchasing this for the purpose of reading Logos books, this is very helpful. Did you have the older version?

You will not regret the new iPad for reading vs the 2

I had an iPad 2 and just bought the new iPad (32GB Verizon). The screen is definitely worth the upgrade for reading books on the iPad for my over 50 eyes.

I got my iPad 3 the day it came out. To me the screen was the major selling point. I chose not to upgrade to the iPad 2 when it came out because there just weren't enough improvements. So in my economy, the iPad2 was not worth the upgrade from an iPad1, but the iPad3 definitely was.

I personally have very much enjoyed the new iPad display. I had iPad 1, and the screen resolutions of iPad 2 and iPad 2 were identical. That is why I did not upgrade to iPad 2, but waited for the higher resolution. It was the right decision. No regrets at all. The iPad 3 is much better for reading.

To me, the New IPad is the way to go. My wife bought one for me as a return home gift from deployment. I love the screen but the future is what fuels my recommendation. I like Siri on my IPhone. Its only a matter of time before they provide an API for developers to tap into the potential. Won't you want to be able to tell your IPad to turn to John 3:16 in the middle of your pastor's message? Or if your a pastor, after telling your congregation to turn to John 3:16, you can tell Siri. What fun it would be for the pastor to get into a verbal fight with their IPad in the middle of a sermon when Siri turns to the wrong passage :-)
Seriously, I could see Siri being nice for the IPad. Siri, the new screen, and better camera make it worth it in my book.

Sounds like an interesting conversation. If you have the experience in the future, remember to post the audio file. [:D]

Thanks for the help everyone. I ordered a New iPad with 64GB. I hated spending that much, but experience has taught me that I have never been disappointed in purchasing more storage space, but frequently disappointed when I have not.

I still rave over iPad 1! Am less excited by iPhone 3?GS. With hindsight, I'd have got a 4. But my dissatisfaction inspired me to treat myself to a birthday present of the latest iPod touch, which is my constant companion. Poor old laptop gets somewhat neglected unless I want to consult multiple commentaries... Kindle is now coming back into its own for reading while sitting in the sun. I'm very happy with the kindle keyboard, or whatever it calls itself.
