RE: neophyte needs help!
my sons just got a 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab2 and after playing with it I may take the plunge and join the 21st century. I have been reading posts concerning the L4 Android app, what about apps that help a technologically challenged person use it more to its potential? this size looks like I'm carrying my bible when it is in its protective case. my desire is to use it from the pulpit or take it to an appointments. nothing fancy. thanks in advance for your advise.

The Vyrso app is basically a reader - it has no bible study tools but allows you to search books online and offline. You can download that from the Play Store app which should come with a tablet from Samsung. If you don't have any Logos books of your own there are some free bibles and study books you can use whilst online. There are a number of free books you "buy" from the Logos web site and these have the advantage that they can be stored on your device and used offline. Please ask if this brief explanation leaves you with more questions!

tks Dave, I have the Platinum Ed. just haven't looked/downloaded the app yet as didn't have a tablet to put it on. guess what I am curious about is what apps work for docs and can you prepare a sermon from the tablet or would I have to prepare it on my laptop and transfer the doc to tablet? tks again

Basically, there are no documents in the Logos app! This FAQ thread will show you what features are available. The ipad Logos app is more advanced than Android; it has notes/highlighting but I doubt that is sufficient (check the ipad/iphone Forum). Personal Books are N/A to either system.

I agree with Dave's assessment that the current tablet environment is not really adequate for sermon preparation.
- If I am preparing something for which I need some thoughts against a particular verse or passage I will often create a note on my laptop and this is then synchronised to my iPad.
- If I need a more complete sermon "script" I will create it on my laptop and transfer it to my iPad (using Dropbox or Pages).
I wouldn't really try and do either of these writing activities on my iPad - though I believe there are some on the forum who do and they may well comment.
As Dave says, the Notes feature isn't available on Android yet - and I understand it is probably some months away - so my first scenario currently only works on iOS devices

Tks Graham, as I look further into it, I see that at least for me, it would be more of a novelty. I will go ahead and download it to my sons tablet and play around with it, but right now can't justify the cost. My laptop offers enough grab and go mobility for me.
