iPad note not syncing but highlighting does

My apologies for posting another iPad note issue. I have read through the others and cannot find a clear solution.

Computer-to-iPad: highlighting and notes sync well. iPad-to-computer: highlighting syncs well.

I cannot sync any notes from iPad-to-computer. In fact, the little yellow note attached icon does not appear on the iPad when a new note is created. (Having same issue on iPhone too.)

I should be using the latest versions.

On my MacBook Pro (system 10.7.4), I am running Logos Bible Software 4.5b SR-3 (4.52.0.2208).

Both iPhone (4S 32 GB) & iPad 2 (32 GB), both with at least 13 GB of available memory, are running Logos mobile app version 2.1.6.279.

I have tried various combinations of killing the app; deleting the app and reinstalling; killing app, deleting app, shutting down the iPad, restart iPad and reinstall app. Nothing seems to work.

(As a side note, I tried the Vyrso app, but that crashes immediately after signing in and a momentary flash of library.)

Any suggestions are most welcome. Thank you.

HI Mark - and welcome to the forums

My apologies for posting another iPad note issue

No need for apologies - these forums are here for understanding and exploring use of Logos software.

In fact, the little yellow note attached icon does not appear on the iPad when a new note is created.

This is interesting. Do you mean that when you create a note on the iPad you get no visual indication that it has been created?

If so, can you check which icons are selected when creating a note? In the screenshot below you will see that at the top right of the set of icons there is a white box with a line through it

    image

Using this allows you to create a note but doesn't generate the icon. So I am wondering whether the note is being created properly but without a visual indication which is why you are seeing no evidence of the note on the MacBook.

If this doesn't help can you walk through the process of note creation you are following?

    • are you creating the note by selection or reference?
    • where is the note being created - in which notes file?
    • how are you checking for existence of the note on the MacBook?

    Thanks, Graham

    Yes.

In my screen shot below, the note indictor on left at verse 4 was done on the computer.

I have tried several different styles and colors for indictor icon but none of the appear on iPad.

are you creating the note by selection or reference?

    Tried both. No indictor.

where is the note being created - in which notes file?

I have tried it using my note file (created on computer) called "Bookmarks". I have tried it under different note files, i.e. "Highlighter Pens" and "Color Box". I tried to create a note file on iPad called "Test Notes" and that never synced to the computer. After deleting the app and reinstalling, the note file "Test Notes" is not listed but "Bookmarks" is.

how are you checking for existence of the note on the MacBook?

Forcing a sync by clicking on the "sync" icon in upper right corner of main window. (Also have used the command "sync now".

can you walk through the process of note creation you are following?

First, I select a verse number or a word or a sentence, and select "Note". Then I have tried both options of selection or verse. Typed in a title. Select icon style and color. Select note file. Hit "Done".

Results: No indictor appears. After forcing sync on computer, no new note indictors.

Ah ha!!! Got notes to sync.

I was not typing anything in the actual note box below the title. I was only typing in a title.

Thank you Graham. I was missing one little step in the process of note creation on iPad.
