Desiring God, mobile access

I know and appreciate the fact that Logos wants and is working on providing mobile access to all resources, so consider this a supportive voice behind one particular resource: John Piper's Desiring God. Reading through it right now via the Kindle app on the iPad and I keep catching myself halfway in the act of tapping Bible passages and keep being surprised when tapping a footnote flips the page rather than gives it in a popup.

If for no other reason than the amount of Scripture Piper uses, having Desiring God in Logos on the iPad would be far superior to the Kindle version, making it easier to trace Piper's references while reading.

It looks like the problem is with the contracts with (many) Multnomah books.

Desiring God would be a good book to have in the library. I had never read it, but came across Piper's What Jesus Demands from the World while researching a topic in Logos and found it tremendously helpful.

Obviously nobody can post the derivative docx, but if you were so inclined, you could make a Personal Book of DG. Their ministry offers a PDF of the book: http://www.desiringgod.org/resource-library/online-books/desiring-god

The text is extract-able, so with a little bit of leg work, you could import the book into your library, and I believe this would all be within the letter and spirit of copyright law.

Whoops, totally misunderstood! Sorry for saying something that had nothing to do with your question, or at the very least is a redundant and effort-intensive way of solving the problem.

I guess I find that peculiar since they give the book away now...in a manner that can easily be used on a "mobile" device (as if these devices are truly different than any general purpose computer).

I completely agree. In fact, I just purchased Desiring God and The Pleasures of God with the hopes of reading them on my iPad (I rarely use the desktop version of Logos anymore). I knew that in the past, these books were not available on mobile devices. Then Desiring God was published for Kindle. I assumed there would be no issue with the Logos versions. I know it isn't Logos's fault (this would be a permissions issue with Multnomah, the books' publisher), but I'm disappointed.

I've wanted Pleasures of God so bad so many times on mobile. It is possibly my favorite book. Both Desiring God and Pleasures of God were extremely influential in my life and I've wanted to search them many times. Just to reiterate, the issue is a licensing issue with Multnomah. That sounds ridiculous as they let Piper release PDFs. We've already purchased the book; this isn't getting them any more money.
