No Results in Bible Word Search

When I attempt to do a word search on a Hebrew Word, after the most recent upgrade, I get "0" results and it no longer searches through Targums, etc. either. It will say at the bottom "X" amount of Hebrew Bible results, but the Pie graph says "0" and, again, there are no other options for cross reference searches at the bottom. Is there something strange with the setting now? What is the solution?

Can you give more details? What steps are you taking? What resources? Can you give a screen shot?

Here is what it looks like for a relatively common word -- no breakdowns, no usages, nothing. Only its appearance in the lexicons. Any ideas? (Thank you very much for your offer to help)

Has Logos finished indexing after your recent upgrade? That can be one cause of "0" search results.

Does this happen with every word or just this one? Try to do a word study on a different Hebrew word and also do a Greek one from the New Testament. It might indicate if there is a bug with that word, Hebrew language or the feature itself. Also what version of Logos are you running? Is it the normal release or are you running a beta?

It happens with every single Hebrew word, and I am using the most recent release on a Mac (4.2.c dkjfsldkjfslak).

It works fine with Greek words, but unfortunately my thesis is on Zechariah.

Mary since the Targums are in Aramaic I don't think they show up in a Hebrew word search. When searching a Greek word it will show the LXX, Pseudipigrapha, Perseus Classics, Philo or any other Greek text in Logos. But I think you would have to do a search or word study in a Aramaic text. I am not very familiar with Aramaic (took Hebrew and Greek).

I may be wrong, I've just never had the Targums show up when searching Hebrew. Let me try to do a word study on my Mac, my last since I updated was in Philippians so I was working in Greek. What passage in Zechariah are you working with, I can try to run it on my machine.

I didn't mean the targums -- it would such other documents that I have in Hebrew (Talmud is what I meant to type, sorry.)

Ok the Talmud makes sense. I cannot check for the other texts because the Hebrew Bible is all that I have in Hebrew at this time (hopefully some day). But I just checked with Logos and I am experiencing the same problem. I think this is a bug.

Mary I just posted this as a bug...hopefully we can get an answer or a fix soon from the tech people at Logos. I know how hard it is when you need to study something for it to not work properly. I cannot imagine when trying to write a thesis. Sorry I couldn't figure it out, I didn't even realize it was not working on my system because my focus since previous updates has been in Philippians so I had not clue the Hebrew side was broken.

Ok, this is funny after leaving it alone to do it the results after running a Bible Word Study for the Hebrew word for "servant" in Joshua 1:1 it worked. It was just really slow. I am just tried the word for city in Zechariah 8:5 and its starting to work, its just incredibly slow!

Very quickly with no results could be caused by indexing not completing. Would like to look at diagnostic log files: Indexer.log and Logos4.log

Current Logos 4 Mac version is 4.5c SR-2 with 4.53.0.2280 (Stable channel) and 4.53.0.2270 (Beta Channel). Logos did not ship 4.2.c (did ship 4.2b last year); wiki has => Mac Release Notes and History

The other suggestion is enabling, then posting diagnostic log files (in a compressed archive) for Logos user and employee comments. The log files should provide contextual insight about Hebrew search.

Could enable diagnostic logging, restart Mac, launch Logos 4 Mac. If blue Logos icon appears in your menu bar, please wait for blue icon to disappear. If search repeats with no results, then compress log files and attach to a forum reply.

Optional: download and use 5504.Logos4MacLogging.app.zip to display your logging setting, then change to enable logging.

I am just tried the word for city in Zechariah 8:5 and its starting to work, its just incredibly slow!

Apologies: unable to replicate slow using a 27" iMac with 2.93 GHz Quad Core i7 that has indexing completed. When indexing is merging postings, can concur with slow.

Personally have added year prefix to many of my Bible titles, which is helpful for sorting in Text Comparison.
