Notes/Highlight Document: how is it selected?
How does the iOS app select which document to use for notes and highlights? The app has an uncanny ability to know which document I want to use for a highlight - and automatically selecting a different document. I can make a highlight, switch documents for that highlight, then when I go to make another highlight it's back to the first document. Come back to the app later and it's switched which document it uses - but by then I'm wanting to use a different one altogether.
Desired behavior would be for the app to remember the last-used document. If I make a highlight and switch documents, the next time I highlight something it should show the document I selected for the previous highlight.

Chris - These are preferences that you select. Under "more" choose "settings." You should see the ability to change "document for highlights" In my screen shot below, the default setting is selected (pallet-specific). You can alternatively select "most recent note document" or select a note document of your own choosing.

Missed that, thanks. Hopefully this will take care of it! But as it is, the notes file being used by default is never palette-specific. I have two primary documents I use, one for Bible reading one for another resource I'm going through. Neither one is palette specific. I'm curious why the app would alternate between these two documents (without any clear reason why it chooses one or the other), particularly when I almost always use the same basic highlight, just a yellow highlighter.

You are missing an iPhone. This forum, and my directions, are iOS specific. Sorry!

I am unsure. Are you alternating between your iPad and L4? It seems to me that the document preference might sync between the two. I rarely use L4 for highlighting now as I prefer to use my iPad for reading.
