Welcome to the forums Jon. My first reaction to your question: There's a type/antitype relationship so that you might find useful information on via the search "waters of separation" NEAR "baptismal water". What you'll find is dependent on your resources.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

I'm not saying that this is precisely equivalent to the use of "holy water" in (largely) the Catholic Church, but you might take a look at

    Lev 14.51
    Num 8.7
    Num 19.18
    Ezek 36.25

    (largely) the Catholic Church

true but "Holy water is water that, in Catholicism, Anglicanism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Lutheranism, Oriental Orthodoxy, and some other churches, has been sanctified by a priest for the purpose of baptism ..." Methodists being mentioned later in the Wikipedia article.

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."
