Please add brightness control

Even in low light mode, the brightness of the text can be overwhelming in low light.  Could a brightness control be added to the "View settings" control panel?  See the Kindle app for an example--it's very useful.

    Hi Todd,

Logos doesn't support that, but you can easily adjust the brightness of your iPhone/iPad under Settings > Brightness and Wallpaper.  Thanks!

Yes, I 'm aware of that, but that means I have to get out of the low-light Logos app and into the bright-screened Settings app to adjust it, which means I can't tell how dark it needs to be.  Also it's a half-dozen swipes and taps to get to that setting. Plus, that changes it for all apps, whereas the brightness control in the Kindle app only affects the reading page brightness.

    My suggestion still stands.

    Hi Todd,

After talking with Development it doesn't sound like this suggestion will be implemented, although I'll still enter an inquiry case.  You might try installing SwipeBright so that any iOS app you use can benefit from quick screen brightness adjustment (this is not an endorsement).  Thanks!

    Thanks for the effort.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, that looks like a separate app which doesn't solve the problem of trying to adjust brightness while in the Logos reading view.  Switching apps is what I was trying to avoid.

BTW, I don't think that the Kindle app is actually adjusting the brightness of the backlight, rather it seems to be dimming the brightness component of the screen colors (since the iPad status bar brightness is not affected).

    Todd,

I'm not sure if you're aware of this mechanism or not. If you double-press the Home button, the list of running icons pops up along the bottom. If you swipe that area to move things to the right, the far left of that area has controls to lock the orientation *and* to change the brightness of the device.

If you do this while Logos is in low light mode, you'll see that the entire Logos screen is still visible, save that small area at the bottom.

I'm not sure if that addresses what you're looking for or not. BTW - This is on my iPad 2. Can't test my iPod Touch right now. Don't have an iPhone.

I know that this works on an original iPad too, at least if you are running iOS 5. [Y]

Thanks Donnie.  I knew the audio controls were there, but wasn't aware of the brightness control.  That is helpful.

Thank you for that, didn't know my iPad would do that! Doesn't seem to have it on my iPhone but that's ok. [:D]
