Why no hover on Notes hyperlinks? (L4 for Mac on latest Beta)
I can hover over passage and get immediate preview (i.e. Judges 2:15). It is the hyperlinks I have put in (Lev. & Deut. passages) that hover does not preview (no matter how long).

that hover does not preview (no matter how long).
Which Mac OS? It does appear in 10.6.8 after a lengthy delay.

Using Mountain Lion (10.8) on new MacBook Pro Retina. Hovering over note passages works, but hovering over linked citations or my linked passages does nothing. Sure want hover preview.

Afraid that someone else will need to assist you as I do not have a machine on that OS.
Sent an email to Logos asking that someone would take a look at this thread.

Where did you send your email Jack? I never saw it.
Jackie, I'm not able to reproduce this issue on 10.8 either. It might be helpful to know how you constructed the hyperlinks in question.

Sometimes I copy/paste passages into hyperlinks. Other times I type them in. Does that answer your question? (Thanks for any insight.)
Here's what is turned it into (as I had simply put Jn. 12:19) logosref:BibleESV.Jn12.19

I'm still not able to reproduce the issue. I don't know that it will make a difference since I couldn't reproduce it in Beta 3 or 4, but have you updated to Beta 4 yet? Apart from that I'm not sure what the issue could be. If you could post some logs, I'll pass the information on to the Development Department for investigation.

Just downloaded latest (4) and no difference.

Here is one log - don't know which other ones might help. Thank you.

Just noticed (after reading an older post from Dec. 2011) that I can hover over and press space bar to see my manually linked passage. Any clue how to keep this engaged so it gives preview whenever I hover?

When I switched email apps, I lost all the Logos addresses I had. I remembered Phil Gons address, so I sent the message to him and requested that he pass it on.

Nothing conclusive in the log. Could you please post a screenshot of the hyperlink drop down for one of the links in question, like the one below? That would be very helpful.

Where did you get that link? It does not look to be correct.
For what you are seeking, you should copy as URL:
Sure thing. This work?

and on Windows (using latest beta now, but I think this was "always" the case) it displays on mouse-over:

I have copied and pasted and also typed in reference in link to no avail. I even tried your link (which is a little different) - no luck. I can hover over Note passage itself and works fine - same in commentaries. But it will only show me preview if I hover and hold 'command'. Thanks for any help.

I know, that is where I got that link. You are quoting my screenshot. Jackie's link in shown in the screenshot at the bottom of the post.
Notice the difference, the correct link shows logosref:esv;ref=BibleESV.Je1.5 while Jackie's lacks the :esv;ref= portion of the link.

I tried both versions of the link in my installation, and they both work on hover.

oohps - where's the slaps hand on forehead smilie?Notice the difference, the correct link shows logosref:esv;ref=BibleESV.Je1.5 while Jackie's lacks the :esv;ref= portion of the link.
Nearly, but now I see. The correct link is a resource link (logosres) to a resource, specifically the ESV which happens to be a bible and thus may be addressed with one of the many bible datatypes to look up the location that the ESV bible datatype knows as Je1.5
The other link is a logos reference link (logosref) which afaik can only reference bibles. The bibleESV datatype just informs this link about the versification it has to use - so "look up in the most prioritized bible the verse that ESV knows as Jeremiah 1:5". Actually this link is valid and it works for me under Windows when you copy it into the linkchain field, but when you look again, it has been replaced by simply Jeremiah 1:5
Have joy in the Lord!

That is what I was looking for. Thank you.
Someone should be contacting you via email or phone to try and set up a time where they can possibly remote in and look at your system. Since we can't reproduce it and there is nothing very helpful in the logs, that may be our best bet for figuring out the issue.0 -

Aren't you on 10.8? Does hover work for you? It works on 10.6.8, but Jackie is using 10.8—if I remember correctly.
After posting, I saw that Tonya had posted some helpful info. Thanks Tonya.

I am on 10.8, but my beta build is on my iMac which I am reinstalling the OS presently. Actually, I have been on vacation and have missed exploring most of the current beta cycle. I don't even really know what is new. [:$]

This issue will be fixed for Mac Retina displays on 5.0b and 4.6b RC 2 builds.

Fantastic! I would like to kiss somebody right on the lips if this works! (probably won't get the ok from my wife on that one)
Any clue when this will be out? I'm waiting...as patiently as I can.
Thanks kindly.
