Scrolling Sucks
I really don't like the scrolling on the iPhone app. You should be able to move the text up and down with your finger like most iPhone apps allow rather than only being able to move one page at a time. It is especially annoying when you are looking at a table and you have to switch back and forth between two pages just to see the whole thing.

Actually, having tested nearly all of the popular iPhone Bible apps, about half scroll and half swipe. I prefer scrolling too, but it is not true that "most" do scrolling. Also most book readers (non-Bible) actually swipe more than scroll.
That said, I wish you could scroll through a chapter and then swipe to the next chapter. For books that are not bibles it could be by page.

Your right that ebooks readers tend to page the same way logos does. For a book it works okay since you are reading from page to page in order. For bible and reference though, I find that I am jumping around more. Olivetree allows the user to choose what style of scrolling they want, which is a good compromise. I agree with you that both scrolling and chapter navigation would be good.

It is worth noting that the Bible is a book.
That said, I prefer the swipe motion to turn a page. Makes it simpler when just reading through something.

While I'm sure I'll get hit for this, but OT is a much more mature product just because they've been running for a long time on iPhone. I would suspect that when Logos iPhone has time they will match some of the great options the others have. Another great new product is Laridian's PocketBible, but like Logos it is not very mature yet. But they have a great mobile track record and Logos has a great track record of improving things. So I suspect things like this might show up in a 2.0 or 3.0 release within the next few months or year.

Don't get me wrong. i love the product. I can access my library from anywhere. There are some glitches but it is a great piece of software for version 1. Funny enough, I met with a friend tonight who thought I was out to lunch about the the scrolling. He loves the way the scrolling works.

I'm definitely in the scroll to read (with swipe as an option) and tap to get menu/options. I a variety of apps daily and I tend to NOT use Logos for drive-by reference lookup because of this ... most of the apps I use have the scroll/swipe/tap UI and with Logos in the minority, it keeps me from using it as much I would since I've got access to a LOT more of my resources.
Then again, I'm one out of many ... (the option to pick which way it works would be nice, though!)

This is absolutely a matter of preference. I don't mind the way Logos chose to do it, but I too would prefer a scrolling method. Perhaps some year down the road when we've already gotten the really important things out of the way (notes, highlights, searching within a range, dictionary lookup) then maybe an option could be implemented to chose between scrolling and page turning (the obvious problem is that the menus are brought up by the same motion that would be used to initiate scrolling.)
