BUG: 'Find' arrows don't switch between grey and black
This has annoyed me for nearly two years now:
The little 'up' and 'down' arrows next to the find box have the same [next to invisible] grey colour whether there are any results to be found in that direction or not. You click one, and then you wait, and then you wonder if the lack of response is because there isn't anything to be found, or if it is because it hasn't finished searching yet, and then you wait some more, and then you click your way back to where you started and go through the same thing in the other direction.
Usually, the reason nothing happens is because you've found the last occurrence, but you can't know that when the arrows are grey no matter what. They should switch between grey and black, like the history arrows above.
Plus it would be useful if, when you come to the end, you got a popup asking you if you want to continue searching from the beginning, like you do in a word processor.
And while you're at it: if you could get the contrast between the grey and the black arrows a bit better it would be appreciated. It's certainly better than for the find arrows, but still a bit hard to see for my eyes.

Just for reference, I compared this behavior between Mac and Windows. The arrows in the Find box on Windows do not change color based on search hit availability in that direction either. However, the background of the text field turns red when attempting to continue in a direction that has no more results to show.
I'm not sure whether or not background color changing is an option for the Mac platform, but I'll put in a case for giving some kind of visual indication that there are no more results to show.

I presume the 'red' is considerably easier to code, and it's certainly visible enough, but from a user perspective different colour on the arrows would be slightly more helpful. The 'red' requires that you first try, and try in both directions. With black arrows that turn grey you know beforehand when there's no idea to try anymore.

The shape of Safari's history arrows certainly make the grey/black contrast easier to see.

This is why I keep hoping you'll check out and add my bugs/parity issues to the list, instead of just doing it myself. You always seem to find something more to add at the same time. [:D]

If 'red' refers to that extremely light pink in KS4J's screenshot, I take the "certainly visible enough" part back. I wouldn't have seen that pink at all if I hadn't deliberately looked for it. I assumed 'red' meant, well, red. [:)]

Can't say I like the colour, and I still would have preferred clearly visible black/grey arrows, but yes, I can confirm that it now works.
