Which Base Package Do I choose?

I am trying to decide between the Scholar's Library and Scholar's Silver. I was wondering if they are really that different or not? Really the only thing that is making it a hard decision is I really would like to have the New American Commentaries that come with the Silver. I am hoping that people that already have Logos can help me out.

If you can afford Silver, you should get it. The cost difference between the Scholar's and Scholar's Silver is much less than the cost of buying the NAC by itself. So the NAC alone justifies it. Plus you get these other significant works:

Early Church Fathers (37 vols.)
Apostolic Fathers in Greek and English (Lightfoot Edition)
Keil and Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament (10 vols.)
A Concise Hebrew and Aramaic Lexicon of the Old Testament
A Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint
The Pulpit Commentary (77 vols.)

Ryan, a good rule of thumb is to spend as much as you can reasonably afford in your first base package. That puts more in your Library at a lower cost per volume.

Silver is a good choice since you are interested in the NAC. For the $370 extra to upgrade you'll get volumes it would cost $600 to purchase separately later. If you can afford Silver, I see no reason not to buy it. Gold used to be a better buy but Baker forced Logos to remove its products and Gold was hit hard by that. Silver is probably a price/product sweet point right now.

Scholar's Gold and above includes my favorite commentary series => UBS New Testament Handbook Series and => UBS Old Testament Handbook Series
