It seems like every time I buy a new book, I am torn between purchasing it on logos and purchasing the print edition. We are living in this strange "in-between" period where print is still ubiquitous but digital is obviously the future. As a young preacher, I'm building my library, and I go back and forth on the issue. Sometimes I think my print books will collect dust in 10 or 15 years, and I'll wish I had bought the digital versions. Other times, I wish I could loan out a good book to a friend, and realize it's digital. I also worry about things like passing my library on after I'm gone. It's easy to inherit a room full of books. Tougher when it's digital, especially if you want to divide it up and not simply give one heir your login info.
I'm interested in hearing everyone's opinions on this. Is anyone dead set one way or the other, and can you give me some arguments to help me decide?
