Bug(?): Unable to Go To Home Page

I just updated to the newest 3.0.0.1248 version of the Logos Bible Software app on IPhone 4s. I am reading Bible text, but now I would like to get to the home screen. I used to tap the text, which would bring up some navigation controls. On the lower left of these controls, I would go to the home screen.

Now I see that there is a new navigation control in the top right that opens up a sidebar. This is fine if I want to change the book, or search, or do presentations. But where is the home screen?

Or, more specifically, I want to get to my reading plan. I don't see any way to get to my reading plan, either. My habit is to go to the home screen, open up my reading plan, and then tap my next section for reading. But, I can't get to the home screen, nor to some new "Reading Plan" area.

Help?

Hi Brian - and welcome to the forums

There should be a small icon at the top-left corner of the screen - press that and you should get to the home page

    Alternatively, a three-finger swipe-down should do it

    Graham,

Thank you for your quick response.

I saw the screen shots that were posted showing the iPad application. I noticed the small icon that you referenced in those screen shots. However, I do not see that icon in my application. When I open the left-side-bar, there are four tabs (Library, Go, News, Account Settings), but no home button above these four tabs.

A three-finger swipe down? I tried many different variations of finger swiping with no effect. The three-finger swipe is true on an iPhone?

    Thanks for your help,

    Brian

    Hi Brian

Sorry, not sure if these are just iPad specific.

I'd better leave it for someone with an iPhone to comment!

    Apologies for any confusion

    Graham

There is no home page on the iPhone app. The tabs that you are talking about: the "go" panel is what you need. Select it and you can swipe the different panels, including "devotions" which contains the reading plans.

    No. Just the iPad.

Oh, I see now. I did not discover this feature because I missed the six dots that informed me there were other panels.

So, for anyone else who may have this problem:

    • While reading your text, tap the text to bring up the navigation options.
    • In the top left of the screen, tap the icon to reveal the left pane.
    • Click the magnifying class.
    • This panel has six modes of searching (notice the six dots at the bottom of the panel).
    • Swiping this panel left or right will cycle through the six modes of search:
      • Go (Bible verse navigation)
      • Devotions
      • Search (Bibles or library by key words)
      • Documents (where I found my Bible reading plan)
      • Guides
      • Tools

    Thanks for your help.

Hope that helps someone else out there!

Brian- Just for clarification.... The "documents" panel will have the reading plan document; the "devotions" panel should have a clickable link to your current reading. FYI - you may need to scroll the devotions panel DOWN to see your reading plan.

Related problem to this on iPad only I have only 3 buttons showing on left sidebar. Home, library and search. The 6 (dots) at bottom when swiping are, "go, library, search, documents, guides and tools. This is different than the iPhone which has " go, devotions, search, documents, guides and tools". When I hit the home button on the iPad then I have on the right column the 6 slide pages as on iPhone and devotions is there. Why on the left side bar view is devotions replaced by library and also there is no settings gear? The first image shows left sidebar the second image hitting home button in left sidebar

The user interfaces are slightly different between the iPod/iPhone & iPad. The iPad has a home screen… the iPod/iPhone does not. The sidebar slides are therefore different to accommodate the differences.

Why on the left side bar view is devotions replaced by library and also there is no settings gear?

…because those things are on the home page instead. To be honest, I wish the Sidebar UI were the same. It would make things easier for everyone I think. [;)]
