Passages to read to someone seriously ill or dying

Hello Logos Friends,

I recently had a friend as me about some passages she might read to her father who is dying of cancer. I ended up going to my Bible and giving her those passages to lookup rather than searching logos for them because I didn't know exactly how to do this. Probably simple but if some one could help me that would be great! Thank you!!!

Hi skymom,

What you are looking for depends on the dying persons state of salvation (have they accepted Christ or not).

Often i find looking up topics better than using search when looking for topics like in your case. I found the book below especially helpful for topics. It is found in most base packages in Logos4.

Some topics that you might use for a brother/sister in Christ in such occasions as you described:

Hope (hope, as confidence)

Resurrection (resurrection, of believers)

Inheritance (heaven, inheritance of)

For those who do not know Christ as Savior and Lord, then you would need to witness to them about Salvation. If you feel uncomfortable about doing this you might ask your Pastor or someone else in your church to visit the person. Also there are numerous tracts available as well as books in christian book stores. But it is best to have someone witness to them in person. If you need some Bible verses you might also consult the above book
