Crashed, and Black Screen.
The program crashed while I was attempting to start it. All I receive whenever I attempt to start it is a black screen.

I still experienced the black screen. I attempted to load the app many times without success. Finall I deleted and reinstalled the program.

...and? Did that fix the problem?
Did this happen just after you updated to the new version, or did you have version 3 working before?

Yes, it fixed the problem, however, I did have to download most of the books again. I was surprised to see some re-appeared immediately after the re-install.

There is a new feature in the mobile app where you should have been asked if you wanted to re-download your previously downloaded resources. If you are not paying attention, it is easy to miss. You may have clicked "yes" without realizing it.

It is a popup which appears when you FIRST reinstall the app. It looks similar to the "rate me now" popup. It's too late now if you didn't do it already. It is possible that you clicked yes, didn't realize it, but cut the download short by closing the app. If ANY books were downloaded, I would say that this is the case.
