Preaching using notes in split pane
Earlier this evening, I used the Bible app in,split screen mode for the first time when preaching.
I had the biblical text in one split and my notes file in the other.
It worked really well and provided much easier access to the text than when I was using Pages, so overall a good experience.
It did, however, reinforce the request that has already been made that notes should be able to be viewable through the full height of the panel not just part of it.
It also showed how good it will be to be able to preach using a Personal Book once this is available on iPad.

I was going to try that this week, but wanted to be come more familiar with the new UI before I got it front of people with it and have something happen I cannot quickly recover from. I agree with the need to have notes viewable through the full height of the panel. I have also noticed the note font on the iPad seems very small. I have not found a way to increase the note font size as I can with a regular resource.
I am anxiously awaiting using PB's on my iPad. Hopefully this year[O]

Thanks for the report.
If it is going to require quite a bit more time before we have this capability it would be nice to have a temporary way to download PB's on the Logos Bible App on iPad. If you are writing a sermon in L4 notes on your desktop computer, after you are done select the text and increase the font size. It will sync to the iPad app at the larger size. You will want to practice with different font sizes until you find the one you want on your mobile device, 14 or 16 seem right. You may also want a second note file identical to the first on your desktop that is the appropriate font size for desktop reading. (It would be nice to be able to adjust the font in notes on the iPad itself, but I probably wouldn't want it to sync and increase the font size on the desktop.)Fredc said:I have also noticed the note font on the iPad seems very small. I played a little with increasing the font size on my desktop. That is feasible workaround, but having a huge font on the desktop is little obtrusive. I guess I could always get bifocals.

I agree with the request for the ability for a note to expand to fill the column of the split pane. That would be incredibly useful for preaching. That and a proclaim remote built in... I am just saying. I would settle for the expanding Note pane. This is however a great improvement on the iPad.

Not to in any way diminish this request, but here is a partial work around. It only works in the portrait view and not in landscape. Split the screen with your Bible and Document (Sermon). Then go to portrait view. Move your Bible off the screen and then tap your sermon. The Document boundary will increase, then close your keyboard and bring your Bible back out to one half the Screen. Your Sermon should now take up one half the screen, if not slightly more. Now lock the iPad so the portrait/landscape position doesn't change or you will lose the size of your document again. Any thoughts on this request?
Preparing for a sermon again just now I was reminded how much I wish every week that we could expand a note to fill the entire split pane[:)]
Is this something which might appear at some stage?

Though I was hoping for a response from Logos here as to why it currently works the way it does. It seems a very strange restriction to me.

I think the pane size is the absolute minimum that I would need. Two things that follow close behind are having the iPad reflect my indentations and highlights. I guess what I want is the iPad notes to look like my desktop notes. If the iPad did this I would switch over immediately. If I could zoom the notes on the iPad so that I didn't need to play with the font that would be icing on the cake. I recognize that this is a work in progress and a very good one. I personally just need a couple more things before it meets my pulpit needs.
